bohemian rhapsody played in adella's ears still, one headphone pushed off her ear so she could hear what other people were saying. since vecna had tried to kill her, robin hadn't dared to let go of her hand, as if she would slip away. during their rush towards what was hopefully a gate, adella explained she was able to copy vecna's abilities to the group and they realised why she was happily taken by him.
she had to deny eddie's request to make him float because of lack of time.
"something's happening." dustin whispered giddily as he walked through a bush.
"dustin? can you slow down? dustin?" eddie called and the child didn't listen as everyone chased after him out of the bushes.
"i think we're getting close!" dustin said and eddie yanked him back from falling into lover's lake.
"watch your step, big guy." eddie mumbled.
"oh, man." steve sighed.
"you gotta be shitting me." dustin grumbled.
"yeah. i thought these woods were familiar." eddie hummed.
"lover's lake." robin stated.
"this is confounding." dustin said.
"there's a gate in lover's lake?" max asked.
"whenever the demogorgan attacked, it always left an opening." nancy spoke up. "maybe vecna's the same way."
"yeah, only one way to find out." steve muttered. they got the boat that eddie tried to use to get away from jason and started pushing it into the water. "easy. i-i said easy, man."
"sorry, dude." eddie apologised.
steve he'd his hand out for robin, "here you go."
"yeah, i'm just gonna do that." robin said and used both men's heads to walk into the boat.
"me too." adella slapped steve's hand away and he sighed when adella climbed onto the boat using their heads. "you're hair's so soft. i thought it'd be crispy with you best friend, hairspray."
"shut up." steve grumbled as robin laughed and helped adela the rest of the way onto the boat.
"wheeler." eddie said and helped nancy onto the boat, who mumbled a 'thanks'. dustin tried to get on and eddie poked his forehead, "hey, hey, hey, you trying to sink us? this thing holds four people tops, okay?"
"it's better this way, okay? you guys stay here with max." nancy ordered. "keep an eye out for trouble."
"you keep an eye out!" dustin shot back. "it's my goddamn theory!"
