*Flashback*
The company's entrance opens wide with a loud sound, prompting everyone's attention to be drawn in that direction. You enter wearing a formal secretary uniform and clutching an envelope tightly in your hands.
All of the employees interrupted their work and looked at you, their gazes following you down, and they could hear your high heels click-clacking down the hallway, the staccato beat of high heels reverberating off the marble floors.
It was the day after your breakup, and you'd brought your resignation letter to Jungkook's office, stating that staying and working with him would be awkward and strange.
Everyone watches as you walk to Jungkook's office where he's sitting in his chair, legs crossed, head leaned back on the seat, and a cigarette in his mouth as he spins the seat side to side.
When you walk into his office, the pungent aroma of cigarettes fills your nostrils, forcing you to cough and pucker your nose in disgust, drawing Jungkook's attention. He side-eyes you, not ready to fully face you or he'll break down.
You slowly close the door behind you and stand still mentally preparing yourself to speak.
"You're late." Jungkook coldly said, sucking in more of that smoky flavor and then releasing it.
"I- uh...I was stuc-"
"That's no excuse!" He snapped. The anger in him from last night's breakup was still visible in him and you could observe it had gotten worse especially when he cut you off like that.
You scoff and clutch tighter onto the envelope. "It doesn't matter if I'm late or not anymore." You said and threw the letter on his desk causing him to pause smoking and turn his seat to face his desk. He blankly stares at the letter slowly clenching his jaw.
"What the fuck is this?" You heaved as he steadily peered up at you, his eyes puncturing your nerves and driving your heart to race. His eyes... they were completely dark, staring right into yours as if they were about to take your life with them.
"My-...my resignation letter," you breathe trying not to let him imitate you. "I don't wanna work with you anymore." You said but you didn't make eye contact. But once you did,
His dim look punctured you all over in disturbance. He halted what he was doing and held his jaw. He lifts off the chair and turns towards you with the most threatening expression.
"Why?" he scoffs, eying you up and down shamelessly. "Do you have a specific reason?"
"I just- I don't wanna work with you...it's- it's weird."
"Darling, give me a specific reason," he chuckled evilly. "You signed a contract under me and that damn contract states you cannot leave until you have a good reason!" He snapped. You place your palm on your chest a bit taken aback. "So what is your reason huh?! Have you been assaulted? No! Harassed? No! Unfairly paid? No! No! No!" He smacks everything off the desk causing you to flinch and back away, eyes wide with fear.
"It doesn't matter, I'm leaving!" You breathe trying your hardest not to tear up because that'll make it seem like you still want him. With that being said, you leave the office stomping heavily on the floor and panting as your chest ached plenty from holding back all the tears.
Jungkook follows, chasing right behind you with the letter gripped in his hand. "Y/N, I'm sorry! Just wait please," yet you continued to walk, everyone focused on you two. "Don't leave like that, I still love you!" He wailed, and all of his employees watched him crumble under the weight of his own mistakes that divided you two.
