Wizard Cookie was in one of his spell rooms practicing his most recent magic spells. He had been away from his friends just to dedicate time to his magic. It wasn't really a big deal to him or his friends, but he did miss going on adventures with them.

Although the focus on his spells was intense, he still wished to just have a little time with all of his friends.

Gingerbrave had been around sometimes. Wizard Cookie would usually show and practice his spells with him. Gingerbrave liked the spells and liked spending time with each other. They both did.

Creating, making, and trying out different variations of spells was quite the entertainment for Wizard Cookie. It was his profession anyways. 

But one day, one of Wizard Cookie's spells went awry..

~Gingerbrave POV

Gingerbrave was keeping watch for any cake hound trespassers as usual. He would fight them and get it over with, that was the majority of his routine.

Other times, he would go on adventures with friends to explore more of Earthbread.

Without Wizard Cookie.

It was weeks since the last spell he had shown to Gingerbrave, and he was getting worried. What if something happened to him.. or was he just fine?

Gingerbrave knew Wizard Cookie could deal with it himself and that it was not a big problem at the moment. They had a strong bond, that's how he knew.

Every word they spoke to each other, Gingerbrave remembered. He was utterly worried about what would happen to Wizard Cookie for being alone for such a long time. For not being social. For not being with his own friends. His friends that went on adventures with each other for hours on, having fun.

Gingerbrave realized he was worrying about Wizard Cookie, again. This had been happening for the whole time Wizard Cookie had been away, not being in adventures and stuff.

He just hoped that his spell ideas would die down soon enough just so that they could see each other again.

~Wizard POV

Wizard Cookie was just minding his own business, casting his usual spells and practicing new ones, when he read an unfamiliar one in his spell book.

It was a new page, or rather just one he hadn't noticed. The spell was written in runes, which Wizard couldn't make much out of. 

It read as " ᚨᛒᚾᛟᚱᛗᚨᛚ ᚠᛟᚱᛗᚨᛏᛁᛟᚾ ᛊᛈᛖᛚᛚ  "

The directions below it weren't in runes, which concerned him. But, he was determined to impress his friends with a new spell conquered. 

He followed each step until the last, memorizing every chant and pitch. Every last word on that page had been studied in less than an hour. He was quite influenced on this spell since it was new and there was no doubt it would impress his friends.

But, the thing he didn't study was the runes.

The runes.

He had been so distracted by the fact that he could impress everyone in the Kingdom with a spell labeled with runes, that he forgot to translate what the runes actually said.

Wizard Cookie had already committed too far into the spell, so he ended up casting it.

On himself.

Wizard Cookie woke up to see Gingerbrave, shaking his shoulders.

"Ah! What?! I'm awake!"

"Thank goodness you're okay, Wizard Cookie! Something.. er.. happened to your.. body.."

Wizard looked down at his hands to see one bigger than the other. At first, he thought he was just unsteady from fainting, but his arms were getting bigger too. It reached to his feet and he basically looked deformed from there.

"Wizard Cookie! Are you okay?!"

"Does it look like it?!" Wizard yelled but also felt flustered.

"Uhm.. How do I fix this!?"

"I.. I'll try to do it on my own..!"

It was a struggle for Wizard Cookie to walk, but he eventually picked up his staff and frantically flipped through the pages of his spell book. Gingerbrave watched in amazement as he chanted his spell of purifying.

In seconds, Wizard Cookie's body shrunk back to normal, cleansing his whole body from anything stopping it from being normal.

"That was so cool! I miss watching your spells."

"Thank you! And thanks for watching over me when I was.. rather, deformed."

They both blushed and looked away at each other, but walked back to the kingdom. They ended up chatting about how they missed each other and what happened while they were away.

All of their friends were happy to finally see Wizard Cookie back at the kingdom.
