Dreaming Doll

(What? Where Am I? Why is it all dark? I should have been doing some work in my room. I can't move? Or talk, or open my eyes...) Mafuyu thought.

- Doll Exhibition Venue -

(Isn't this the doll exhibit we visited today? What am I doing here?) Mafuyu's thought and heard a familiar cheerful voice.

"Whoa, look at that, Ena! Isn't it amazing?" Mizuki? said.

"Huh, it's very well done, yes. It's almost feels alive." Ena? said.

(Mizuki and Ena? What's going on? Why does it feel like they're scrutinizing me?) Mafuyu thought.

"Hey, this doll has strings attached to it. Is it a marionette or something?" Ena? said.

"Interesting! I wish we could make it move around! Probably not gonna be easy, though, considering the size of this thing." Mizuki? said.

"Don't touch it, Mizuki. It looks too expensive to damage." Ena? said.

"Hey, that doll over there's super cute too ♪" Mizuki? said and ran off.

"I told you to stop running around!" Ena? shouted and followed them.

(Have I turned into a doll? Is that why I can't move? That's impossible... Oh, but... I don't mind. Being a doll, that is. It means I don't have to do anything or think anymore. I don't have to keep looking for myself anymore. I just have to do as I'm told. Everyone will be happier that way, right?" Mafuyu thought.

"Mafuyu." Y/n? said with Kanade? beside her.

(Huh?) Mafuyu thought.

"You're feeling something right now. Tell me what it is." Kanade? said.

"Why? Why do you want to know? I can't feel. How many times do I have to tell you that? And even if I did feel something, nobody cares—" Mafuyu said but got cutted of by Y/n?

"That's not true. Tell her What you're feeling, Mafuyu." Y/n? said.

- Mafuyu's Room -

Mafuyu woked up and gasp loudly.

"Huh? Was that a dream?" Mafuyu said.

[Kanade]: <Yuki? Is everything all right?>

[Mafuyu]: <K?>

[Kanade]: <Yes, it's me. I thought you went to sleep.>

"Oh. I logged into Nightcord and then fell asleep. That's why I had that dream..." Mafuyu said which make Kanade heard.

[Kanade]: <Dream? What dream?>

[Mafuyu]: <A dream about me turning into a doll. I turned into that disgusting doll we saw at the exhibit today, and I couldn't move or talk. But then Y/n and You appeared Infront of me, and—>

[Kanade]: <Me and Y/n was in your dream too?>

[Mafuyu]: <Only for a little while.>

[Kanade]: <And? What was I doing in there?>

[Mafuyu]: <I don't remember... You were saying something to me, I think.>

[Kanade]: <Oh... And how did that dream make you feel?>

[Mafuyu]: <You're asking that again?>

[Kanade]: <Sorry, but I really want to know. I want to see things from your point of view and understand your feelings, because then I'll be one step closer to writing a song that will save you.>

[Mafuyu]: <I can't help you with that. Since I don't even understand myself very well.>

[Kanade]: <But—>

[Mafuyu]: <I just don't understand. I live my life everyday, but nothing gives me pleasure or joy. Everything feels detached. Yet I can sense that something vital is missing. How do I even put this into words?>

[Kanade]: <Oh...>

[Kanade]: <How about you put it into lyrics?>

[Mafuyu]: <Lyrics?>

[Kanade]: <You could say lyrics are words too, but I also believe they're somewhat different. You don't have to explain yourself or try to understand anything. Just turn what you're feeling now into song lyrics.>
