10 MONTHS LATER...
"Push", said the doctor.
Sydney pushes the baby out and suddenly she hears crying.
"A beautiful baby boy", said the nurse. "Time of birth 10:45"
The doctor lays the baby on Sydney's chest.
Javonte comes into the room. He was at work when Sydney called so he got there late. He missed the birth.
"Damn", he said as he walked over to Sydney.
"You couldn't wait 2 minutes?", asked Javonte.
Sydney chuckles. "I'm sorry you missed it. Everything happened so fast.", said Sydney.
"He's beautiful", said Javonte.
"Would you like to cut the umbilical cord?", asked the doctor.
"Yes", said Javonte.
The doctor shows Javonte where to cut and Javonte cuts the umbilical cord.
"What are you going to name him?", asked the nurse.
"Xavier", said Sydney. "Xavier Davis."
"Remember that name. You'll hear it on TV one day", said Javonte. "Or in a history book. My boy is going to be somebody one day."
Sydney smiles.
"I'll be sure to remember that", said the nurse.
The doctor gives Xavier back to Sydney.
Javonte watches the doctor stitch Sydney's private area.
"What happened?", asked Javonte.
"The delivery process teared her but not too much", said the doctor.
"Does that take a long time to heal?", asked Javonte.
"Von, hush", said Sydney.
Javonte walks toward the head of the bed to get a better look at Xavier.
"I'm going to take him a moment jus to assess him", said the nurse.
"Okay", said Sydney.
The nurse takes Xavier and lays him in the basinet before starting her assessment.
"We did that", said Javonte.
"We sure did", said Sydney. "Did you see LJ and Say?"
"No. I didn't even look around I just came straight here", said Javonte. "When did they get here?"
"LJ drove me to the hospital", said Sydney.
"Why didn't you just call an ambulance?", asked Javonte.
"Because I was at his house dropping Sayora off. My water broke", said Sydney. "I knew I was getting contractions before that but I didn't expect to have him so fast. Sayora's birth took a whole day."
"Once you have one baby, the rest just pop on out easily", said the nurse.
"Something told me not to go to work today. Remember I saw his hand reach out for me. I knew he was coming", said Javonte.
Sydney starts laughing.
The nurse hands the baby back to Sydney.
"I ain't hold lil man yet", said Javonte.
Sydney hands the baby to Javonte and Javonte sits down.
"Sayora is so ready to see her", said Sydney.
