JIMIN POV

"Baby. Little flower. Babe."

"Hmm?" I jerked my head up, smacking my lips together.

"Too early," I mumbled. I started to turn over but with my belly as big as it was, it was too much work.

I was just starting to drift off again when U said, "What time do you need to get to campus?" I sat up, on high alert. At least, I tried to sit up.

It was early morning in December.

We were in my room, staying with my mom for now. She insisted on helping with the baby, and I suspected she'd be lonely if we moved out for good.

The semester was almost over; I had one more final today in advanced calculus, then I was basically on paternity leave through the holidays while we waited for the baby to come in the new year.

"Alpha, help me." Jungkook took my hands and pulled me to a sitting position, trying but not really trying to hide his smile over it.

"Shit," I muttered, "I'm not late, but I gotta get my rear in gear."

"No one under sixty-five uses that phrase."

"Yeah, well, maybe I'm ready to retire."

I put my hands into the small of my back and pushed, arching and letting off a series of pops.

Jungkook's already serious face turned to stone as he looked from my belly to my face and back again.

"How're you feeling?" He mumbled, smoothing his hands all over me.

A restlessness was in my bones, and I could hardly keep still.

I chalked it up to finals nerves. I'd had them a million times before.

I waggled my eyebrows. "Gonna be feeling horny in a minute, you keep that up."

I held my hands out and he pulled me to my feet, the blankets falling back on the bed.

"Seriously, Jeon Jimin." Behind his brooding tough-guy face was the worrying expectant alpha father.

"You've been a little uneasy the past few days. Should you be taking this final today?"

"Should I be taking-are you out of your mind? You think I waddled to class this entire semester just to miss out on the final? The baby's not due for another month, for Pete's sake."

Jungkook suppressed a smile and muttered, "'for Pete's sake'," as I shuffled into the bathroom to brush my teeth.

He leaned in the doorway, powerful arms crossed, looking me over carefully.

"I know, but they said the due date doesn't mean much and that some times labor can sneak up on you even with normal pregnancies."

"Ih wohn sneak uh on me tooday," I said around a mouthful of white foam.

"I am one with my body. One with my womb. You know, and all that good stuff."

"Hobi said you're not likely to carry the baby to term. What if something happens and I'm not there?"

Something in his voice stopped me.

I rinsed my mouth out, dried my hands, and went to him. I cradled his face in my hands, stroking his cheeks with my thumbs.

"I'm scared, too, Alpha. The good news is, even if he came today, which he's not going to, his chances are excellent. We made it this far. Chances are good we're gonna be okay."

"Guess you're right about his chances now. I just want him to get the best start, you know?"

""Course I do. You're being a great alpha. I didn't sleep that great and I'm a little restless because I've got a huge final today, that's all. After this, the only thing on my plate will be to sit around and let you wait on me."
