~Stan's POV~

I made my way up the last bit of the hill. Stanford was a dead weight, unconscious to the world around him. I was limping slightly. The hospital was mere feet ahead of us.

My legs shook under me and I collapsed. Ford groaned softly. I gritted my teeth and struggled to my feet, pulling Stanford behind me. I grunted that the extra weight for my twisted ankle to bare.

A woman walking down the street spotted us. She quickly ran over to us. "Sir? Sir! Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine," I said through gritted teeth.

"I'll go get help!" The lady said, rushing towards the hospital.

I glared as she ran off. I took another shaky step forwards on my twisted ankle. I grimaced and quickly took another step with my other foot.

I'd hardly gone five steps when the woman and a bunch of doctors came out of the hospital, rushing towards us. I was determined to stay on my feet, but my knees buckled and I fell forwards again.

The next thing I knew, I was in a hospital bed. My ankle was wrapped and I was alone. I swore under my breath. I was hoping to find Mabel on the other side of the portal, but she was nowhere to be found. We were dropped in the middle of the woods. Stanford had fallen hard on his head and I had landed on top of him. He was a pretty tough guy, but the heads still nature's snooze button. I found out he had cracked his head open and me landing on him probably didn't help.

It was that same moment I realized that I had twisted my ankle. I ignored it, going to get help. I decided that leaving Ford alone like that was a bad idea, so I tried to drag him along. It took about an hour, but we got to this town. It was relatively small, but it did have a hospital, so that's where I went and, well, you know the rest.

No one came in. The white walls and sheets made my head spin. There were no windows and no one to talk to. This gave my way too much time to worry about Mabel and Dipper. Mabel was here somewhere, but I had no idea what Cipher was planning for Dipper. The kid was too curious for his own good. No matter how many times I tell him...

I sighed out loud. No use now. Cipher was gonna probably take over the universe and it would be useless scolding the kid.

The door finally opened to a nurse. My mouth dropped open at the redhead that I yelled at everyday to get back to work.

"W-Wendy?"

~Demon Dipper #1's POV~

I hung around the Mystery Shack for a while. Bill had taken, well, me to somewhere super secret and just left me behind. I was honestly fine with that. This left the whole house to myself.

Suddenly, a hand came and pulled me out of my comfort and into the mindscape. I frowned. "What is it?" I asked Bill.

"I need you to rejoin bodies with Pine Tree," Bill said.

My frown deepened. "But-"

"No buts!" Bill said, his eyes turning red. "I need to access Pine Trees dark side, and that's you. Just think of it as...sharing, i guess. You'd probably be as powerful as me."

I tapped my chin. "Well, alright.

Bill smirked. "Great. The kids in the back room. He's still struggling to control his powers."

"Well, of course he is," I said. "He's missing darkness. Without that, he won't have enough strength. I'm his pain, anger, embarrassment, fury, dark thoughts. Don't worry. I've got this."

~Dipper's POV~

I opened my eye to footsteps. In the mindscape, my demon clone was in some sort of shadow form. "What are you doing here?" I asked.

He shrugged. "I'm here to help with your training."

"Great," I said sarcastically. "More evil demonic tricks to batter me with."

My clone raised an eyebrow. "Who said anything about wanting to hurt you? I'm here to help. Without me, you'll never be a demon."

"Hey, I don't even want to be a demon. Can't you just leave me alone?" For some reason, the hormones that made my anger bubble were resurging. I hadn't felt this much rage and pain since Bill had taken that part of...my...soul...oh, wait.

Before I could even form my next thought, my demon clone turned into smoke and shot into my body. There was a sense of all these different emotions as the smoke went it, all negative. A little bit of my mind was slipping away bit by bit.

It finally died down. I opened my eyes to a pair of shoes. "Let's see if that worked," said Bill. He snapped his fingers and the chains disappeared. I floated off the ground and lit my hand of fire with a smile on my face. I was actually controlling it. The darkness somewhere inside of me threatened to break loose. I wouldn't let it. I had to hold onto my sanity, no matter what the cost.
