Today has been a bit stressful for Shoyo.
He woke up this morning, not really feeling like himself. The kids are all sick, and he too has started to catch something.
Tobio was called into work this morning super early, his coach wanted to discuss something with him. Leaving Shoyo alone until he got home.
He originally said that he wouldn't go in, seeing how everyone was feeling, but Shoyo insisted that he went in.
So, Shoyo was now taking care of two fussy girls and an extremely grumpy pup.
Harumi and Kazuyo were clinging onto Shoyo, not wanting to let go or let him move. While Hanako was knocked out on the couch next to them.
He tried to get up to get some water, and use the bathroom, but Harumi held onto his shirt, making it hard for him to do so.
"Princess, I have to get up for a minute. I'll be right back" he kissed her forehead as he moved Kazuyo off his chest and moved the sleeping pup next to him.
Harumi tried to fight him on it, but she was too tired to continue, and fell asleep before she could protest more.
He quietly got up, and covered the kids in small blankets, then went into the bathroom.
He sighed and sat down on the floor for a moment, and for some reason he felt so exhausted. Not just physically, but mentally too.
He leaned his head on the wall, and felt his body relax against the cool tile as he closed his eyes. A result of not sleeping correctly for days. __________
He doesn't know how long he stayed asleep for, but when he woke up, all he heard was loud crying.
His eyes shot open and he got up so fast he nearly fell over.
He rushed into the living room to see Hanako leaning over the edge of the couch, shivering as she threw up.
"Shit/ oh my god baby, I'm so sorry" Shoyo scooped her up, looking at Harumi and Kazuyo who were both up and now fussing.
He cursed under his breath and brought Hanako into the bathroom, setting her down on the toilet while he ran a cool bath to clean her up.
He pressed his hand to her forehead and felt warmth just radiating off her body. He teared up and kissed her head, "I'm so sorry honey" he said and started taking her clothes off, then placed her in the bath.
He got her in the shallow water, and gently cupped some water onto her body.
He could still hear the other two fussing in the living room, and he felt so lost on what to do. He was only one person, so it's not like he could be in both places at once.
Just as he set his phone down, he heard the front door open and close. Realizing Tobio just got home, he got up and wrapped Hanako in a towel, and held her close as he walked back out into the living room. ____________
"Holy-" Tobio said when he saw Shoyo a complete mess, the kids crying and the whole room a mess.
"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have gone" Tobio said and hurriedly set his things down and got to helping Shoyo.
Shoyo just shook his head and teared up a bit, turning away for a moment to try and compose himself.
He felt like a complete failure. He felt like he couldn't even take care of his kids, or himself for that matter.
"Hey, hey. It okay baby, I'll clean this all up, you just go get her dressed" Tobio kissed him and walked into the kitchen to grab some cleaning supplies.
Shoyo just nodded and went upstairs, still holding Hanako who was about to fall asleep again.
He picked out some clothes for her, and set her down so he could get her dressed, he just put her in a simple unicorn onesie, her favorite.
She just went right back to hugging him and closed her eyes, falling asleep as they walked back downstairs. ___________
By the time he was done, and came back to Tobio, he had already cleaned up the living room had started some soup and crackers for the twins.
Shoyo set Hanako down on the couch again, and gave her stuffie to her, covering her in a blanket then going to Tobio.
He hugged him from behind and laid his head on his back, making Tobio look over his shoulder, and turn around.
"Are you okay?" Tobio said, kissing his head and wrapping his arms around the smaller.
He separated and looked down at the ground, beginning to tear up. "Sho, what's wrong" Tobio said, lifting his chin up and rubbing his cheek.
Shoyo just looked down, then explained what had happened earlier.
He thought for sure that Tobio would be mad that he left their sick kids alone as he fell asleep in the bathroom, but Tobio just gave him a kiss and tried to calm him down.
"Shoyo. Your exhausted, and they are fine. When you left, they were sleeping and they are fine now. So don't worry about it, okay" Tobio looked down at him with a soft smile as he kissed his cheek.
Shoyo looked up and made a teary smile, "I love you so much, I don't deserve you" he said and hugged him tight.
Tobio shook his head and wrapped his arms around him again, "I love you too honey, so, so much" he said, kissing his head and swaying gently back and fourth. __________
The couple fed the kids, Kazuyo got some applesauce and little pieces of crackers, while the twins got ramen and crackers.
The couple didn't eat til later on, but after they did, they sat down in the living room, having just put the kids down to bed.
They both snuggled up together, and fell asleep on the couch. ____________________________________
