Road to Spider-man (The Road Continues)

(Friend or Foe arc) Part 7

After Y/n left the household, Gwen is seen sitting by the dinner table moving around her food with her fork as George sat across from her. 

Seeing Gwen barely eating her food, George grew concerned. Swallowing the food in his mouth, he cleanses his pallet with some water before engaging in a conversation with his daughter. 

George: "Everything alright, sweetie?"

Gwen: "Has Y/n been acting strange lately, Dad?"

George: "Well, he's acting strange all the time Gwen"

Gwen: "No, like, stranger than usual. Like he's hiding something"

George was taken aback by Gwen's question but tries to play it off as best as he can. 

George: "No. He's still the same troublemaker in my eyes"

Gwen grew suspicious of George's answer, observing her father closely as he tries to hide his uneasiness.

Gwen: "Is there something you're not telling me, Dad?"

George: "Oh, Gwen. You know I can't hide anything from you. You'll find out about it eventually, so there wouldn't be any use to hide it from you"

Gwen: "Hmm...Guess you're right"

Gwen then proceeds to eat her food, causing a wave of relief to wash over George. Though he had finally dodged the bullet.

Gwen: "Hey, Dad?"

George: *sigh* "What, sweetie?"

Gwen: "I'm sorry. You must've had a bad day..."

George: "No! I mean..."

George then sighs one more time as he recomposes himself.

George: "What are you gonna ask Gwen?"

Gwen: "I was wondering if you know a way to get into Oscorp"

George: "Oscorp? Hmm...I guess you could apply for a visitor pass. That or you could apply for an internship, but the list was already closed last time I checked"

Gwen then falls silent, seemingly lost in thought. This causes George to look over at Gwen in worry but decides to say nothing and instead, the two continue to eat their dinners in peace. 

We then go to the next morning, Y/n is seen walking down the stairs in his outdoor clothes. 

May: "Oh? Where are you going dressed so nicely?"

Y/n: "Have something to do today. Have you seen Peter, by any chance?"

May: "Oh, he already left before you. Breakfast?"

Y/n: "Yes, please"

May: "Take a seat"

After sitting down at the dinner table, May had plated up a filling breakfast for Y/n, who scarfs it down without a care in the world. 

Once the plate was clear of any food, Y/n placed the dish on the sink before kissing May on the cheek before leaving. 

(Timeskip)

Y/n enters the Oscorp tower casually, walking around the main lobby aimlessly as he observes the insanely spacious room he had found himself in. 

Y/n: *mutters* "Alright. Step one: Get inside Oscorp...what the hell is Step 2?"

Receptionist: "Excuse, me"
