Road to Spider-man (The Road Continues)

(A Very Spidey Christmas arc) Part 14

Chaos and Mayhem littered across the fallen shield, Fire and Lightning shooting astray as the sound of battle continue to ensue. 

???: "Com...on...ter...Hel...pul..."

???: "...wen...mayb..."

???: "Shut it..."

Voices were heard from a deafening ear, as a fainting vision looks up to see the sky breaking apart, revealing a purple layer of space. 

The voices begin to grow louder as the figures of Gwen and Peter leaned over as they looked to be at each other's throats.

Gwen: "We've seen him bounce back from worse, this isn't-"

Peter: "Can we just STOP and THINK for a second!? Look at him!"

Peter gestures to the body Gwen had dragged out of the rubble, revealing the weakening body of the impaled Spider-man.

Peter: "I don't like to see him like this either, losing a best friend and all. But he did all he could..."

Gwen: "..."

Gwen looks down back to Y/n, seeing his eyes losing life as he stares blankly into the sky. The sky that Peter looks up as well, seeing it continue to part every second. 

Peter: "Maybe...maybe it's time for him to rest"

Tears began to swell in Gwen's eyes before breaking out crying, leaning over Y/n's body as she shudders. Peter was no different, letting the stream of tears fall down across his face as the sound of fighting continue to be prevalent.

With a slam of his fist, Nightmare sends a wave of flames that was dodged by Glitch-Spider, vaulting into the air before empowering his fist with venom and glitch energy and punching him across the face. 

Following up, Phantom-Spider teleports and kicks Nightmare to the back of the head before grabbing onto his horns and kickboarding off of his chest. 

Once his feet touched the ground, the spiders jump Nightmare with their version of an empowered punch, ready to lay it down onto the towering monstrosity.

Enraged, Nightmare slams his fist down onto the shield, causing a wave of fire to burst outward, knocking the wind out of the spiders as they tumble back to the ground.

Nightmare: "Such foolishness, if I was anyone else I would downright call it heroism"

Nightmare walks up to Glitch-Spider and pins him to the ground with his foot.

Nightmare: "But sadly, I'm not like anybody else..."

Glitch-Spider: "You won't...get away with this..."

Nightmare: "Oh, I think I already have"

From behind, Phantom-Spider goes for a teleport surprise attack, only to be grabbed out of the air with his tail.

Nightmare: *maniacal laugh* "Look at you two, take out one and suddenly the rest falls"

Feeling something hitting his tail, Nightmare turns and see Phantom-Spider trying to break free from his hold.

Nightmare: "Persistent. What more should I show you, that you've already LOST!"

Nightmare then slams Phantom-Spider to the ground, knocking out the last bit of fight in his system.

Grunting himself to his hands, Stephen looks up to the sky, seeing the tear in the sky worsen as billions of galaxies began to peek through the tear, showing several constellations in the multiverse.

Pushing himself to his feet, Stephen began forming glyphs on his hands before casting a spell on the tear, in hopes of stabilizing the tear.

Peter: "I guess this is it..."
