'I was born, was tied, hadn't seen the light for so long

Thought I'd lost all my fight, couldn't find my way back home

And I felt the light sapping out of me

I was born, way tied, waiting for daylight'

-Bang My Head by David Guetta ft. Sia

I missed Adrian. So much that it hurt to breathe when ever I thought about it. It was the first thought that came into my head each day and the last to leave. I knew I was being stubborn but it was for my own good and the good of my friends. Now that she was out of prison she would be looking for me and she would not stop until she found me. Anyone associated with me who did not give her the information she wanted would be sent to hospital with more than just broken bones. If what Penny had said was true and I had changed then she would seek to make me silent again, and when I went silent it wasn't until the police found us and I was close to death that they realised that she was an extraordinarily dangerous psychopath with a power complex. She loved to be the one with all the control and as soon as she didn't she acted accordingly so she would end up on top.

I glanced out my window and saw Adrian leave with his car and I was hit with another pang off loneliness and loss. Burying the feeling I started the walk to school. When I reached school I got a few strange looks because I was not with Adrian but a well aimed glare sent them scurrying off to their friends. Luckily the hallways were completely deserted. Not. I was not in the mood to be polite and it seems that my death glaring outside had spread into the school because everyone was clearing out of my path very quickly like I was some kind of contagious disease. Near my locker a boy pushed a younger girl out in front of me and she fell to the floor, dropping all of her books in the process. She looked up in fear and my face softened. Kneeling down I helped her gather her books and I helped her stand up before passing her books back.

"Th-Thank you," she stuttered.

"Your welcome," I said softly with a smile, "What is your name?"

"L-Lilac," she whispered and then promptly ran off. I scanned the crowd for the person who pushed her. He was looking shocked that I hadn't ripped the poor girl to pieces.

"I don't take kindly to bullies so watch out,"  I informed the surrounding crowd, sending a pointed glare at the boy before walking the rest of the way to my locker. When everyone realised that the show was over they left and the hallways were relatively quiet. However it gave me the best view of Hailey who was talking angrily into her phone.

"I don't care!" she hissed, "We have to do it today! They aren't talking and she is in the prime position... I don't care if she is dangerous at the moment because she isn't dangerous! Now shut up I have to go and update me later." With that she hung up the call and walked as briskly as she could in stilettos down the hall. I shook my head for the poor person about incur her wrath.

On the way to chemistry I was pulled aside by a nervous looking Will.

"What is going on? I heard that you made quite the scene on your arrival."

"What's going on? I'm in a bad mood that's what. I suggest you walk away before I make an example of someone," I spat as I shrugged out of his grip and walked to Chemistry. As I glanced back I noticed that Will had pulled out his phone and was rapidly calling someone. He probably forgot something, the idiot. His comment about making a scene was a gross understatement really, I threatened to hurt someone if they partook in any action that could be considered bullying. And I took threats very seriously. Once in the chemistry classroom I took the empty seat next to Penny.

"Have you talked to Adrian yet?" she asked.

"No and neither has he approached me," I replied calmly.

"He is walking a fine line," Penny muttered before saying louder, "Why haven't you two talked?"

"I will not go out of my way for someone who does not warrant it," I replied.

"What the hell!" she yelled as the teacher walked in.

"Penelope please refrain from yelling in my classroom. Go and sit beside Mr Forsyth please," he said sternly before turning to the board and starting the lesson. The entire class I heard angry whispers from the both of them and I couldn't help the shot of jealously that went down my spine. I could only blame myself though, we were going really good until I that news item. The kiss we shared was phenomenal and I would be lying if I said that I didn't want another. Once again ignoring my emotions, I went back to focusing on my work.

Lunch was noticeably awkward between everyone. There was me who was ignoring everyone and reading, Adrian who wasn't talking and Penny who was shooting death glares at Adrian. Will was also missing. Other than that it was fairly uneventful until someone loudly cleared their throat. Nobody took any notice until the person did again even louder. At that everyone went quiet and I looked to see why. Hailey was standing on a table with her hands on her hips.

"Listen up!" she yelled, "Amongst us in this very room is a murderer." Everyone broke out into surprised whispers and I felt cold dread pool in my stomach. "Quiet!" Hailey screamed. "You wouldn't suspect who it is either, she keeps to herself. This girl has been associated with someone who too place in child abuse and did nothing to stop an innocent girl get murdered. In fact she stood by and watched with glee as this happened and it was to her very own sister! That's right, she did nothing to stop the murder of her sister and even helped the killer." I slowly started shaking with anger and without realising I was gripping my book so tight that my knuckles were white. So as not damage the book I placed it on the table as Hailey started talking again. "Her parents take pity on her and keep her locked in her room so she can't kill anyone else! She also has anger issues and can't help but get violent, just ask Adrian Forsyth what happened to his stomach at the start of the year!" Adrian growled from the other side of the table.

"Yes you heard me right," Hailey continued, "She even wounded our great Adrian Forsyth. She is mentally unstable and can't be stopped! She self harms, there is even a scar on her back to prove it. Ashley Summers used her sister for personal gain when she killed her and now she is plotting her next move!" Everyone turned and looked at me with such contempt that my anger rose another notch to the point where I was no longer shaking it I was perfectly still and completely silent. "Ashley Summers doesn't talk to anyone because she is planning her next move. She is a murderer and you better avoid her or become her next victim!" I wasn't sure when I started gripping the knife so hard that my entire hand went white but one second I was sitting down and the next I was standing, arm out stretched and the knife was in the heel of Hailey's stiletto.

"Don't share something with the world unless you are sure of it's truth," I hissed quietly, my voice carrying around the room with ease.

"But it is true," she replied with such conviction that everyone except my table was nodding.

"Go to Hell, Hailey!" I spat and ran out of the cafeteria and to the woods beyond.

This has got to be one of my favourite chapters of all time in this book. What did you think? Do you think that Hailey was way out of line and how did she find out?
