'Human beings, we have dark sides; we have dark issues in our lives. To progress anywhere in life, you have to face your demons' -John Noble
After I found out what Will had done I wanted rip him apart, metaphorically, along with Hailey. They really shouldn't have crossed me like that in front of the entire cafeteria because I was mad. And mad Ashley was an ugly thing to behold.
There they were, sitting alone as outcasts because of what they had done. Both of them had humiliated me, and as a result of that people avoided me like the plague. Everyone was ready for me to hurt them or yell at them.
"Look at you two, thick as thieves still," I said coldly as I approached them.
"Look at you, you really did get the courage to come and talk to us," Hailey mocked me.
"Did Adrian not warn you that I would come?" I asked, truly confused.
"He did and he claimed that you were worse than him when he was angry."
"You have no idea of the true extent of my anger right now," I said, holding up my wrapped knuckles, "These are the result of my anger so I would watch out if I were you because one day the tree won't be the only one with my knuckle indentations in it."
"We were only doing what was right for Adrian!" Will yelled at me.
"Only what was right for him? That is some twisted motive, to say untrue things about people without a thought of the consequences. You have no idea what your betrayal did to Adrian, Will! No idea!"
"As soon as Adrian met you he changed! In everything he did he considered you before everyone else-" I cut Will off.
"That is because he loves me! It's perfectly normal to place the person you love above everyone else! My only response to your actions is that both of you are selfish. Incredibly and wholeheartedly selfish," I spat.
"Love you?" Hailey questioned, "He doesn't love you, he loves me."
"Really? Because never has he held you when you needed the comfort of another person, never has he told you that you were worth fighting for and never has he told you that you are his sun and moon; his everything. Never has he told you that he loves you," I nearly yelled. Hailey looked shocked.
"He really said that to you?" Will asked softly. My head whipped to where he was.
"He most certainly did, Newman. Maybe you would have seen that if you weren't obsessed with your little plan of revenge! What you did was despicable," I hissed.
"It was revenge," he retorted.
"Yes, it was. You hated me because I caught the attention of one of your best friends and he changed because of that. Did you ever stop to think that maybe you never knew the real Adrian at all? Maybe he changed when he became part of the group. Will, all you did was try and get rid of me because the person you thought you knew was now different. While you have had your head stuck in the clouds you didn't notice how Caine complimented Adrian on how much more open he was or how Mason commented that Adrian was much better tempered. You missed all of this because you were too stuck in your plan for revenge."
"See, this is why I hate you," Will seethed, "You make points on the basis of false information and still manage to catch the attention of everyone. You don't need to speak at all! Over the years I have observed every move Adrian has made and he has always been gravitated to you! Never have you noticed when his eyes strayed form his food to where you were reading your book with a half eaten apple beside you, nor did you notice when he would hang around your locker trying to gain the courage to speak to you! You are the despicable one and you know it."
"So your little display in cafeteria was you making points on false information? Dealing out what I deserved?" I shook my head sadly. "Those things you said about me effected me more than you would care to know. You don't know that to have a nights sleep without waking up from the screams tearing out of your throat is a miracle for me! You don't know that to be accused of having something to do with child abuse cuts right under my skin because that was what happened to me for eight years! Don't go stating things that aren't true if you don't have the facts to back them up!"
"We only did what was right and if Adrian doesn't see that then he is a fool," Hailey said before grabbing Will's arm and pulling him with her.
Sinking down to the floor I felt the tiredness catch up to me. The nightmares had returned and had returned twice as bad. Crossing my legs o rested my elbows on my knees and my head in my hands. This was how Adrian found me ten minutes later.
"Are you alright, fiammella?" he asked carefully.
"Not at all," I mumbled, raising my head to meet his green eyed gaze.
"You've had more nightmares," Adrian stated. "How many hours of sleep did you get this time?"
"Only about one and a half. Don't worry about it, I'll be fine," I replied.
"I don't like to see you in pain... it hurts me to know that I can't do anything to help."
"I'm perfectly capable of looking after myself, Game Boy," I said with a frown.
"That doesn't change the fact that I wish I could do something to help my girlfriend."
"Girlfriend?" I asked, confused to why he said it.
"That is... if you'll be my girlfriend?" he said nervously, running his hands through his brown hair. I waited a few seconds before answering, knowing that my silence was killing him.
"Of course I will be your girlfriend, Adrian." I laughed at his overjoyed and relieved expression and pecked him on the lips. "But I think it's time we went to class."
Classwas perfectly fine until the loudspeaker came on.
"Could Ashley Summers please make your way to the school entrance. Could Ashley Summers please make your way to the school entrance. Thank you." Very rarely was there any announcement on the loudspeaker and for it to call a person somewhere was even more rare. I stood up slowly and titters of conversation spread around the room and Adrian sent me a small, comforting smile. With that I made my way to the front of the school.
It was the kind of walk that had my instincts twitching with a sense of foreboding, I just knew that something bad was going to happen. The sound of my footsteps was the only thing that pierced the silence that had enveloped the school as classes went on. I wondered what could have caused me to be called the front of the school, only important issues could have prompted the notice. As I reached the front of the school I saw the principle.
"Excuse me, but what is you wanted me for?" I asked. The only thing the principle did was point to a person.
"Hello sweetheart, long time no see," Anne May said.
Important issue? More like the return of missing parents
Penny you can say I told you so...
And she has returned! Anne May is back and this time Ash has Adrian to help her!!
