She turned on her chair seeing him sat beside her. The bartender had placed her drink on the table towards her, she said her thank you before turning to the man she now knew as Noah.

"Isn't that the reason you shouldn't be judging a book by its cover?" She replied smartly then taking a sip of her drink. They way she delicately picked up the glass and put it to her plumped lips made him want to immediately kiss her. He didn't know how she made something so simple and common, so sexy.

"Well I can apologise for that, how about you let me read a couple pages to understand you better."

Desiree laughed at his little pun. She honestly found it cute and not that much so cringey.

"What makes you think I'm just gonna tell you anything about me to begin with." She asked taking another sip of her Martini.

"Because I always have ways of figuring them out. Desicake." He watched her reaction as she slightly widened her eyes at the nickname she had just called him. Desiree almost choked on her drink. She had already known how he got the name. She was pretty sure everyone knew from how loud Melanie screamed it last week.

"That's fine, because I have my own ways to finding out other peoples information as well. Noah." She leaned in whispering his own name to him. Now she had expected him to look bewildered and was surprised to his smirk dig even deeper than it previously was.

"Well now that's not fair is it?" He teased.

"What? Why." She leaned back in her chair taking the olive from the cup and chewing on it.

"You know my name and I only know your nickname. I think it's safe to say I actually get to know your real name rather than what a recent thirteen year old calls you. He said placing his shoulder on the counter leaning in a little bit.

"Desiree." "What?" "My name is Desiree."
"Desiree." He repeated the name loving how it flowed out of his mouth. It felt like a mint. 'Refreshing'.

"So Miss Desiree, would you care for a dance?" He got out of his seat and put his hand toward her hoping she would take it and allow him to lead them to the dance floor.

"Umm dancing, isn't really my speciality I have two left feet." She confessed.

"And I have two right feet. You see opposites attract. Now come on. Please." He grinned flashing his pearly teeth

Desiree wasn't sure if she should take his hand she was a bit hesitant about the whole situation, but it was something about his smile that made her softly nod her head and take that risk, letting him take them to the dance floor.

He brought her to the dance floor and wrapped his arms around her waist as she hesitantly tried wrapping her arms around his neck only for him to just over lap his hand on hands and wrapped her soft hand around his neck before going back to her waist.

The music that was playing was indeed made for slow dancing. The song greatest love of all by Whitney Houston. Gently brushed their ears letting the harmony harmony disperse around the room.

The two looked at each other in admiration, they had completely forgotten about the group they came with only more curious about the person standing in front of them. For some reason she felt safe in his arms, comfortable. She felt as if she had known this man for a long time. The long single plaits he had, his beautiful light brown eyes that shined even in the dark atmosphere and the jackpot smile. That was her favourite thing about him, his smile.

"Is this how you seduce all the women you meet?" She was the first to break the silence as she looked at him.

"No. All the women I meet are nothing like you." He said in a joking way

Desiree threw her head slightly laughing at what he said. "That sounded so corny." She said through laughter.

"Yeah, but it also made you laugh." He replied back.

"Yeah, because you sounded like someone, who has used that same overworked line in hopes it will finally catch you a woman." She replied smartly while also teasing him.

"And I think I don't have to use it anymore, seeing as you are technically trapped in my arms. I'd say it finally worked."

"Don't get your hopes up Noah."

"Oh I'll keep my hopes up Desicake."

She gave him a look. "Don't tell me you forgot my name already."

He leaned closer, hovering over her ear. "I could never forget such a beautiful name or the gorgeous women who holds it." He said brushing her ear with his lips and going back to facing her only to see how flustered she now looked. He knew she was blushing, just because she was black didn't mean shit. He knew.

"Um-um." She stammered.

"There you are girl, we went to the bar and we didn't see you. We almost into a panic attack until Shonda pointed you out. Anyway we heading out now and cleo is already waiting outside for you come on. Keisha said completely interrupting their trance and pulling her away

If Keisha took the time to actually analyse the two. She would have seen how shy Desiree looked and how proud Noah looked. He knew he had an effect on her and was going to use it to his full potential to have her. Desiree was confident but she just wasn't as bold so him. The tingles she felt when he brushed his lips against her made her feel hot all over. She didn't want to speak in the fear or squeaking but she definitely didn't think mind would draw blank and have her stuttering.

"D? You hear what I said let's go." Keisha said snapping her out of her thoughts.

"Oh yeah I'm sorry, Umm ok let's go. Wait, wait. Thank you for the dance it was lovely meeting you again." She said quickly before leaving with Keisha.

Noah watched her leave before remembering something before she got to far.

"Hey, you gonna give me your number." He said grabbing her hand out of reflex to stop.

"That depends, you asking or telling." She raised an eyebrow at him.

He chuckled, "I'm sorry, it wasn't even like that. Could I please have your number." He asked flashing a petulant smile.

"Hmm, ok. Let's make a deal, the next time you see me I'll give you my number. How's that?"

"I'd rather prefer to have it now, why not now?"
He questioned with furrowed eyebrows.

"Because I wouldn't want to make your job so easy for you now would I." she giggled.

"Bye," she said after being tugged by Keisha again.

He smiled at her cheekiness but he was willing to play along. "Alright, next time I see you. Which I will be doing. I'm getting your phone number." He smiled which made her smile.

"Good luck, because I'm not an easy woman to find." She said before exiting with her friend.

He stood on the dance floor just thinking about her and he smiled. Remembering who he came with he went back to his people's. He was definitely gonna see her again.
