Eddie sat in a rather uncomfortable chair, clutching Sophia's hand for dear life as he watched her vitals. The group had successfully made it back to the 'Stargazer' and Willow had just finished fixing Sophia to the best of her abilities.

"It's really bad," Willow stated as she finished wrapping one of her many wounds. "She likely has some sort of weird sickness too, almost like her lungs were flooded out by some weird liquid." Willow had concluded everything with an x-ray and discovered even more unseen problems under the skin.

"She's gonna be okay though, right?" Sylvia asked pleadingly, they were all worried about her. But no one as much as Eddie.

"I don't know, I've never dealt with something like this before. I-" She pressed her palms to her hands. "I don't want something worse to happen because of me."

"Hey, you did all that you could."  Sylvia took one look at Willow before shaking her head and pulling her into a tight hug. "It's all gonna be okay, I know it will."

"Thanks," Willow muttered, also wrapping her arms around Sylvia in a close embrace. "Means a lot."

Later that night, Willow was leaving the medbay and headed off to her previously shared room. The lights were a dim glow, almost impossible to see anything past a few feet. She was passing a storage closet when she was forcefully pulled inside, she was about to let out a small yelp when it was muffled by a hand being thrown over her mouth.

"Be quiet," A familiar voice whispered. "We don't want anyone to find us." Willow pulled the hand off her face and squinted in the even darker room.

"Gabbi?" She whispered questioningly. "Wha-"

"Shh," Gabbi shushed her, pulling her deeper into the closet. "I know what happened," Willow gave her a weird look. "With Sophia, I know how bad it is. . . I know what she'll have to go through if she ends up surviving."

"What the heck are you saying!?" Willow whisper shouted, moving to leave the room when Gabbi gripped her wrist tightly.

"Hear me out." Willow gave Gabbi an insane look but didn't say anything. "After everything, the physical torture, the mental torture! You think she's gonna want to live with all that emotional baggage?"

"No," Willow muttered. "No you don't know her, she'd want to live! She's a fighter, always has been."

"Is she really?" Gabbi asked, leaning on the nearby shelf, smirking in the darkness. She then grew a genuine look on her face. "After all that fighting though, wouldn't you think she would want a break, just to let go from all the pain?"

Willow shook her head profusely. "Y-you don't know what you're talking about!"

"Is that so? Because I'm speaking with reason, if I were her best friend I'd want to do everything in my power to make her happy, and I don't believe her living with all that suffering will do that."

Willow seemed to believe it for a moment, before clenching her jaw. "No, s-she'll be okay! Sylvia said so!"

Gabbi scoffed. "What does Sylvia know? Is she a doctor-"

"Well, neither are you! So I don't know what you're talking about." Willow cut her off, but Gabbi just nodded.

"I know I'm not a doctor, that's why I'm telling you to make the right choice. Do the right thing." Gabbi said forlornly, reaching a hand into her back pocket and grabbing Willow's hand. Turning it over and pressing a cold syringe into her palm. "I'm just giving you a choice."

Leo smiled as Cammy piled some slimy-looking fish stew onto a bowl. "Thanks, Cammy," Leo sniffed it and made a look. "Smells great,"

Cammy smiled obliviously and handed Leo a water bottle. "No problem man," Leo shook his head and ducked over to his table, sliding in across to Sylvia.

"Hey Sylvia," He picked up a spoonful of stew before letting it splosh back into the bowl. "This sure looks great,"

"Suffer," Sylvia laughed maniacally. "He gave me some bread to soak up the crappy broth." Sylvia looked past Leo only to find a disheveled Eddie stagger through the doorway. After he got his food he plopped down tiredly next to Leo.

"Hi," He said tiredly, rubbing his palms against his eyes.

"Look who finally left the medbay," Leo said snarkily, to which he received a weak shove to the arm from Eddie. "But seriously, you gotta take care of yourself man," Leo said, laying a worried hand on his friend's shoulder.

"I'm okay, Sophia needs me though," Eddie made a move to leave when Leo grabbed his wrist and pulled him back down.

"Nope," Leo said, pushing the questionable bowl of stew in front of Eddie. "Sophia's not going anywhere, you're gonna sit here and eat every single bite of this crappy food and then you're gonna take a shower, and then your gonna get some sleep, and only after that can you go to the medbay."

"He's right," Sylvia said. "You have to take care of yourself."

Eddie groaned in annoyance. "Fine," Sylvia and Leo did a little cheer before calming back down and starting on their food as well.

Eddie left the cafeteria shortly after he finished, he promised he would get cleaned up before going to see Sophia agian, and he intended on doing so. Leaving for the shower block of the ship he snuck into a room. Each room contained a shower and a large assortment of soaps, shampoos, and towels.

He turned on the water and only then did he notice the large mirror on the side of the shower. The water fell perfectly from the celing, him only having to press a button to turn it on or off, hot or cold.

He let the hot water run down his back and he flicked his wet hair away from his face, only to catch a glimpse of his dark circles and red rimmed eyes. He hadnt been getting the most sleep since they got back, he had spent it mostly in the medbay by Sophia's side. Every time he was about to fall asleep, he would jerk awake and continue to stare at her unchanging heart rate monitor, making sure she was okay.

Once he finished his brief shower, he got wrapped in a towel and changed into a new soft white T-shirt and loose jeans. He wandered to his room and lay on the bed, falling asleep before his head even touched the pillow.

Willow snuck out of her room, two days after the predicament with Gabbi, she finally came to a final decision. She slipped quietly into the medbay and saw Sophia. Still asleep. The room was empty and the lights were dimmed.

Willow crouched down by the bedside and fiddled with the syringe in her hands. Taking the cap off the tip of the syringe she leaned forward and turned Sophia's wrist over. She paused before standing back up, "I can't do this," She muttered to herself, before kneeling back down. Willow took a breath and whispered in Sophia's ear. "It's for the better," She looked down before plunging the needle into her exposed wrist, Sophia seemed to twitch in her sleep and Willow backed away to the door before calling back to her.

"Say hi to Bruce for me."
