Leo walked through the hallways, heading for the medbay to see a certain Sophia when he ran into Willow, who was hurrying away from the room for some reason.
"Hey, Willow?" Leo said questioningly, spotting an empty syringe in her hand. "What's that,"
She fumbled with her words before stuttering out a quiet reply. "I-its uhh. . . vitamins, for the IV." Leo looked at her skeptically before snatching the syringe out of her tight grasp, Willow protested. "Give it back!"
"Stop!" Leo said, holding the label at eye level. It read. 'As2O2 Arsenic Trioxide, do not use full 100mm' Leo looked at her confused. "What is this, the truth."
Willow looked at him with a sorrowful expression, Leo seemed to understand what had happened and looked at her with utter disbelief. Willow turned, and without another word bolted down the hallway. Leo shook his head and ran after her, catching up and pinning her arms to her sides.
"What did you do," He said in venomously low tones. She looked down, small droplets falling from her cheeks.
"I had to put her out of her misery, it's better this way." She whispered, almost as if reciting from memory.
"ARE YOU INSANE!?" Leo shouted, glancing back at the medbay door before letting her go. "This isn't over, there's nowhere you can hide." He darted back to the medbay and called Eddie on his holographic wristwatch.
"Eddie, wake up," He spoke, a frantic voice waking Eddie up through the muffled watch. He sat up and replied.
"Huh? What's going on?" He spoke, voice scratchy from sleep.
"Willow did something to Sophia, get to the medbay. Now!" Eddie didn't need to be told twice, as he was already leaping out of bed and rushing down the hallways, the smooth floor cold on his bare feet.
He darted into the room and saw Leo frantically shoving things off shelves in hopes to find something, anything, to fix what was injected into her bloodstream. The beeps on the heart rate monitor were concerningly slow. "Leo what's going on!" Eddie shouted, immediately running to Sophia's side and gipping her cold hand.
"Willow injected her with something and I don't know how to fix it! She ran off or something!" Leo kept searching the shelves for anything that could possibly help when Gabbi was passing the medbay.
She glanced inside and looked at Sophia's slowing heartbeat, she smiled to herself and slinked away before anyone could see her. While she was roaming the halls, undetected, she ran into Willow. Who was looking flushed and panicked, hair messy in some parts like she had pulled at it at some point.
"Come on," Gabbi said in a low voice, pulling Willow wordlessly along with her. "We're going to the armory," She had spoken when Willow gave her a confused look. "Stay quiet." They sneaked past the cafeteria, which somehow was always buzzing with commotion. Once they made it to the right door Gabbi punched in a combination that only she knew, effectively unlocking the door.
"What have I done," Willow stuttered, pushing the palms of her hands up against her eyes, trying to erase the sound of her best friends slowing pulse.
"The right thing," Gabbi said reassuringly, concealing her menacing grin. "You knew it was for the best, they just don't see that yet," She looked at Willow with a certain sociopathic look.
"A-are you sure?" Willow asked, sounding like a child who just wanted to do what was right. "I-I don't want her to suffer,"
"I know, and now she won't." Gabbi tilted Willow's head to face her, an eerie glow from the single overhead light casting a sinister shadow over her features. "Because of you,"
She walked her to a nearby bench and sat her down, wrapping an arm around her shoulders in a motherly way, but there was something wrong with it. "Listen, there's no need to be upset. What you did back there was the most heroic thing you could've ever done."
"Really?" She questioned with watery, red-rimmed eyes.
"Of course, I would never lie to you." Gabbi stood up and started to walk out of the room when she turned around and smiled. "Get some rest, stay here. No one can get in here except me, so you're safe."
The door slid open once she pressed her thumb onto the pad, leaving Willow in the locked room. Gabbi strode down the hallway leisurely, a wicked smirk present on her face as she passed by the medbay once again.
"LEO DO SOMETHING!" Eddie yelled as he too began to ransack the medbay, he reached down and picked up a peculiar-looking jar. Opening it up he found a charcoal-like substance inside. "Leo!" He shouted.
"What!?" Leo hurried over and also peeked in the jar. "How does this help in any way!?"
"I read somewhere that charcoal can like absorb poison or something like that!" Eddie yelled as he ran back over to Sophia's bedside. "Pretty sure the only other methods are like drinking water and vomiting, neither good options as she currently DYING!" Eddie opened the jar, before coming to a realization.
"How are you gonna get that in her systems?" Leo asked, peeking over his shoulders.
"Shut up, still trying to figure that out," Eddie snapped back as he concentrated, looking pointedly at the contents of the jar.
"Looking at it isn't gonna do anything-"
"I GOT IT!" Eddie cut him off, quickly running to the sink present in the room, and filling the jar of charcoal with water. "We can inject it!"
Leo gave him a confused look. "How do we know it won't do more bad than good."
"I don't know!? She's already doing pretty bad as it is so it can't get much worse." Eddie snatched a syringe off the shelf, quickly tearing the plastic packaging off of it and pulling the plastic tip off, throwing it to the side. He plunged it into the charcoal-water mixture and drew in the concoction until the syringe was about half full.
Leo looked at him incredulously as he squeezed his eyes shut, plunging the syringe harshly into her pale, bruised, wrist. The two stared at each other in silence for a few moments, eyes darting between the heart rate monitor, Sophia, and then back to each other. "Did it work?" Eddie panted, watching the monitor which finally began to regulate. Eddie let out a cry of relief and pulled Sophia into his arms, mindful of her injuries, he gave her a gentle embrace.
"You did it!" Leo shouted, shoulders slumping. Finally easing his worried mind, all Sophia deserved was a break from all the madness. "Oh my god she's okay," He breathed out as he called Sylvia on the intercom.
"Sylvia, get down to the medbay. . ." Leo glanced around at the mess he and Eddie had made in their worried frenzy.
"Why? What's going on?" Her muffled voice replied over his wrist radio. "Is Sophia okay?" Sylvia asked, sounding like she was already on her way through the halls.
"Uhh, It's. . . better if I explain in person."
