ACT FIVE
INT. LA NIGHTCLUB - NIGHT
D' Angelo, Grace, Billy and Laura dance. Denise, Preach and Stacy chill at the bar. DRUNK LOSER (40s) approaches Denise.
DRUNK LOSER
(to Denise)
You look familiar. Didn't you go--
DENISE
You don't know me.
DRUNK LOSER
Hmm...Maybe you were in my dreams last night.
PREACH
(under his breath) More like your nightmares.
Denise cuts her eyes at Preach. A beat. Back to Drunk Loser.
DENISE
Listen. I'm not interested. So float on.
Oblivious, Drunk Loser moves closer and grabs Denise's arm.
DRUNK LOSER
Oh don't be like that. Let me buy you a drink.
Denise jerks away and Preach raises from his seat.
PREACH
She said she's not interested.
DRUNK LOSER
I was talking to the lady.
PREACH
(squares up)
And now you're talking to me.
Drunk Loser throws a sucker punch and misses. Preach throws a punch which connects. A fight ensues. Billy and D'Angelo rush over and attempt to break up the fight.

INT. BEACH HOUSE - LIVING ROOM/ KITCHEN - NIGHT
Game night has dwindled. Asher and Jaymee play video games. At the bar, Jordan goes in for a kiss. Layla pulls away.
JORDAN
Layla... Everything's out in the open. No judgment from the Vortex. What are you still afraid of?
LAYLA
(a beat)
I think we should take a step back. You and Simone haven't been broken up that long. And--
JORDAN
Take a step back... No, this isn't about Simone. You know I'd never hurt you, right?
LAYLA
(a beat)
Jordan, we just rushed into this. We didn't think things through.
Jordan moves in closer and brushes Layla's hair to the side.
JORDAN
Layla, you can trust me. I'm not Asher or Spence. I would never do something like that to you.
LAYLA
Jordan--
JORDAN
It's okay. I won't pressure you. (a beat)
You and I could be so great together... I just wish you believed it.
Jordan kisses Layla on the forehead.
JORDAN (CONT'D)
See you around, Keating.
Jordan exits. Off Layla, those words resonating--
