This act is a little shorter than normal....I probably could have ended the episode at Act 4. But here it is. I hope you like the scene I recreated at the end. 😊

ACT FIVE

INT. BAKER'S HOUSE - LAYLA'S BEDROOM - MORNING

With tension in the air, Layla and Jordan get dressed.

JORDAN

--Are you finally ready to talk? I know you still have concerns about my involvement with Simone and Shay so let's get it out in the open.

LAYLA

I feel bad for even feeling this way, Jordan. But I am apprehensive about this connection you share with Simone. I'm sorry.

Jordan grabs her hand.

JORDAN

I get it. And I want you to trust me. I just don't know what more I can do to assure you this is only about Shay and not some lingering feelings about Simone.

LAYLA

I do trust you... And I know how much you love Shay. I'd never want to keep you from him. Maybe it's more about my own insecurities. I don't know.

JORDAN

Listen. I'm not in constant contact with Simone... I'm not involved in Shay's day-to-day. I'm more like an uncle or God parent. I promise this has nothing to do with Simone.

LAYLA

I believe you, Jordan. And I trust you. We can make this work.

INT. BAKER'S HOUSE - KITCHEN - BAR - AFTERNOON

Olivia, Patience, and Layla are mid-lunch.

PATIENCE

(to Layla)

I'm glad ya'll worked it out.

LAYLA

Yeah me too.

Olivia receives a call and she sends it to voicemail. Patience clocks this.

PATIENCE

So who are you avoiding?

OLIVIA

Anthony.

LAYLA

Didn't you two clear the air?

PATIENCE

I thought you really liked Anthony.

OLIVIA

(a beat)

Soooo.... I slept with Spencer last night.

PATIENCE

I don't think I want to hear this.

LAYLA

I know I don't.

OLIVIA

(to Layla then Patience)

Sorry. Sorry.

(a beat)

Oh, it was amazing. But now I'm even more confused.

PATIENCE

That kinda happens when you throw sex in the mix. Trust me I know.

OLIVIA

I know. But it had been so long. And the flesh is weak.
