The cameras recorded him as he sat at the table with his hands clasped together on top of the surface, his body shaking slightly. His eyes were red and puffy, glistening with thick moisture as they wandered around nervously. He seemed to be in some kind of heavy distress, like he'd been crying for hours, or maybe days. His skin was pale, almost grey with pallor just like his hair, which contrasted starkly against the dark green and red of his clothes that hung on his form loosely. He kept looking up at the camera as if he were waiting to see it turn away and disappear completely.

The door of the interrogation room cracked open, letting the light spill into the room. A detective with long, curly hair, wearing a suit, walked inside with a pen and some papers in her hands, causing the shaking boy to turn his head to her, eyes wide and full of anxiety. She had an easy smile as she approached the boy, sitting down across from him and flipping through the papers.

"Hello there, Taehyun. I am Detective Gail Freeborn, we met before, remember? Do you mind if I ask you a few questions about what happened yesterday?"

Taehyun shrunk his shoulders and lowered his gaze to the floor, staring hard at it, but still avoiding eye contact altogether. He wanted to give her a reply, but his mouth was so dry that he couldn't get a word out of it. He was scared of the detective, so terrified that he'd lose control again. It was only now that Detective Gail spoke up again, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Are you ready to cooperate with me, Taehyun? Are you willing to talk to us today?"

It was obvious that he didn't want to. He looked absolutely miserable, like any second now, tears would start falling and he'd begin sobbing loudly. The young detective gave a glance at the camera that was watching them before returning her intrigued and sympathetic eyes to the poor boy in front of her.

"You'll have to answer my questions, Taehyun."

Tears brimmed up the boy's eyes all over again as he hid his hands under the table and placed them on his lap, fiddling with his fingers nervously as if it would somehow help relieve his pain and fear. Detective Gail took another look at him, giving him a reassuring smile as she reached out slowly toward him. Her hand rested gently on top of one of Taehyun's fists. He flinched and pulled back, making sure not to make any contact with her.

Taehyun heaved a deep sigh and closed his eyes for a moment as if he was trying to recall the events which had led him to this place. When his eyes reopened, they were wet with new tears that trickled down his cheeks, shining brightly in the light coming from the ceiling.

When the detective figured out that the boy wasn't going to speak, she released a heavy sigh and grabbed her papers, skimming the page to find something, anything, important. The way her brows furrowed told Taehyun that she was suspicious about everything she read, and about Taehyun too.
