Soobin froze in his spot when he heard his friend shout his name from downstairs so furiously that it sent ripples through the house. All the worst scenarios flashed across Soobin's head as he rushed to his door and stepped outside only to see a red-faced Huening Kai stomping up the stairs with veins popping on his forehead and neck.

"Kai..?"

"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!" The younger roared as he jumped at him and punched him straight in his jaw, sending Soobin flying towards the floor with a hard thud. "How many times did I tell you to leave Beomgyu the fuck alone, huh? HUH? HOW MANY TIMES?!"

Huening Kai was screaming so loud it made Soobin's head ring like a goddamn fire alarm and caused a wave of dizziness to wash over him as the younger grabbed his collar to lift his upper body up, so he could punch him again.

He couldn't think straight for God's sake because he couldn't get rid of Beomgyu's crying voice from his damn ears. He was enraged because the image of Jaesung assaulting Beomgyu was flashing before his eyes every second and making him go mad. But he wasn't just angry, he was hurt beyond belief too. His heart was feeling like it had been ripped from his chest because of betrayal, leaving nothing but raw, bloody pieces.

"How could you do that to me, you heartless bastard?!" Huening Kai screamed, hitting Soobin once more until their faces were inches apart and the taller boy let out an agonizing groan. "How dare you?!"

"Stop!" Soobin cried, but Huening Kai punched him again, knocking him onto the floor before straightening his back.

The younger was shaking from all the emotions and panting heavily while glaring down at his friend. Blood was rushing in his ears; there wasn't a part of him that was functioning right at the moment and all he wanted to do was collapse into himself, curl up into a ball, and die right then and there.

"I thought you were my friend," he wasn't screaming anymore, his voice now was hurt as tears filled his vision and it hurt so much. His body felt cold and numb and his hands shook uncontrollably. "And you betray me... You don't care about Beomgyu, but do you really not give a shit about me as well?"

Soobin didn't say anything, his whole being seemed to be frozen where he lay on the ground, unable to even twitch. It was silent; it was dead silent. Huening Kai watched him with wide eyes, breathing heavily as he stood completely still, towering over the older with clenched fists.

"I'm sorry...," was all Soobin could mumble after a moment passed between them without a sound. His face was scarred and bruised, blood dripping slowly from his nose and mouth and staining his teeth red.

His words sounded hollow but Huening Kai wasn't buying it any longer. There was no use denying what he already knew. It was written all over Soobin's expression.

Huening Kai covered his face with his palm for a moment to compose himself and gulp down his tears, blinking rapidly as he took deep breaths while trying his best to push down the lump in his throat. He wanted this to be over but instead found himself holding a piece of the shattered remains of his heart in his hand. Deep down he knew how wicked his friend really was and he knew this would happen eventually, but the pain was far worse than anything he could have imagined.
