The university was crowded, as it always was on the first day of term. It felt like no matter where one looked, people were there. All the tables and couches and even under the large tree in the courtyard, Taehyun could see groups of students laughing and talking loudly with each other while some of them were rushing to the auditoriums for the lecture or whatever else they had planned for the day.

It was Taehyun's first day and it felt weird. Hopefully Yeonjun was already attending his first lecture, so Taehyun didn't come across him. It was hard to find the auditoriums though. His first lecture was about management and he had to ask a few students on his way to teach him the way to it but then again, it wouldn't really be all that surprising if he ended up getting lost, but luckily he didn't.

The lecture had already started once Taehyun entered the auditorium, so he scanned the area and quietly headed to the empty seat which was beside some black haired guy. He was giving him a curious look from over the top of his textbook. The boy smiled at him when their eyes met and Taehyun returned it shyly before seating himself beside him and putting his books on the table .

Taehyun didn't notice how this stranger was casting occasional glances at him, but when Taehyun caught him, the male blushed slightly and flashed him another smile. Taehyun had to admit that he was really good looking.

His black hair was dishevelled and Taehyun guessed his bangs probably got in the way when he was writing the notes during class. His deep brown eyes were staring at him curiously and Taehyun tried not to blush under the gaze. If the man was trying to flirt with him then Taehyun would just have to ignore him because he was engaged after all.

"You're the first year here?" The boy asked after a moment of silence between them.

Taehyun nodded. "Yes. What about you?"

"I'm the third year," the boy grinned at him sheepishly, "But I failed this subject in my first year, so guess why I'm sitting here now," he said, giggling softly.

Taehyun chuckled and leaned back, already feeling comfortable around the boy next to him. He seemed nice enough, "I'm sorry to hear that."

The older boy smiled at him again, causing cute dimples to appear on his cheeks. He shook his head and pushed a strand of black hair away from his forehead, "It's fine... I'm Soobin by the way."

"Nice to meet you Soobin hyung. I'm Taehyun," he replied politely and shook hands with the boy without their lecturer noticing.

Soobin smiled widely and squeezed Taehyun's hand in return before moving to grab his own pen again to continue writing down the notes.

Taehyun also grabbed his notebook and opened it, his ears perking up as he listened to the lecturer talk, taking some notes occasionally. He was attentive during the whole lecture since he seemed really interested in the topic. When the professor dismissed them to prepare himself for the following lectures, Taehyun packed his things and pressed them against his chest while Soobin did the same with his things.
