"Hey, dude. How's it goin'?"
Yeonjun walked down the stairs of the hospital and headed towards his car while holding his cell phone to his ear, talking to Bang Chan.
"Hey, you know how it is. The same old shit."
"Well," Yeonjun chuckled as he sat in his car, closing the door and putting the key into the ignition, "That sounds boring as hell," he said as he started the car and drove away, controlling the steering wheel with one hand his left arm was leaning against the window and holding a phone to his ear, "So... I wanted to ask something that has been bugging me for a while," he continued, glancing at the rearview mirror. "It's about Choi Beomgyu."
"Choi Beomgyu?" Bang Chan sounded surprised, "I didn't know you and him were still friends," he replied.
"Yeah, we're still close enough, but I'm suspicious about a few things. I want to know as much as possible about him," Yeonjun stated calmly, turning right at the next street corner.
"I don't know much about him either, dude," Bang Chan said, trying not to sound too curious as well, "I've already told you everything I knew."
"Yeah, but you mentioned some guy who claimed to be Beomgyu's cousin, remember?" Yeonjun asked expectantly, hoping he would get some information about Beomgyu's possible cousin from his friend, "Do you know who he is or how I can find him?"
There was a brief silence before Bang Chan responded and Yeonjun could practically see the wheels in his head turning. "Why do you want to contact him?" He sounded suspicious which made Yeonjun a little nervous. He didn't really have time to explain things right now.
"Let's talk about it later, alright?" Yeonjun tried to assure while looking at the road with determined eyes, "Now just tell me whatever you know."
"...Alright." Yeonjun heard the sound of the other man sighing. "I didn't know that guy in person, though," Bang Chan started, "But his full name was Kim Minseok. He's from Daegu."
The last piece of information made Yeonjun ponder for a moment, thinking about the fact that Taehyun and Beomgyu somehow knew each other in the past. Yeonjun was certain it had to be Beomgyu Taehyun was holding hands with in the streets of Daegu when Yeonjun drove past them the previous year. If that was so, it meant that Beomgyu was from Daegu as well, didn't it? It couldn't be a mere coincidence which meant that it was completely possible for Minseok's accusations to be true, but Yeonjun needed to know for sure. He needed to speak to that guy himself which was why he would have to go to the university administration the following day and find his contact information there.
It was already evening when he got back home. The house was totally empty when he entered it, however, Yeonjun knew Taehyun was supposed to be there. He was probably still sleeping in the living room and Yeonjun wondered whether he still had a high temperature, however, all his thoughts flew out of his mind when he stepped into the kitchen and saw the younger boy sitting there with a cup of coffee in front of him as his hand clutched his head, indicating that he was having a headache. His face was flushed, too, but otherwise, he looked fine, like nothing was wrong and he had just woken up.
