Huening Kai was sitting at the desk in his dorm, doing his assignment but he couldn't get anything into his head. He had completely lost his ability to focus recently, maybe that was the reason why he was failing almost every subject. It wasn't like he wasn't intelligent, Huening Kai just didn't have the motivation and couldn't concentrate. All he could think about was Soobin and Beomgyu and how the person he was in love with was the first suspect in his best friend's death.

What kind of hell was that? The most horrible thing ever. He didn't want to know the answer, Huening Kai just wanted it all to be over. But if everything came to an end, would he go back to normal?

No, he would never manage to do that. Soobin was practically his only friend in Seoul but Huening Kai had lost him to a brutal death. But what hurt the most was the way he treated him when he last saw him... How would he ever know that it would be their last meeting?

Huening Kai wished he could take back all the words he told him, all the pain he inflicted upon him that day. But he really couldn't. He hated himself for being so selfish and letting his emotions get the best of him. So he was drowning in guilt every day now and the miserable state of his inner world was also affecting his physical health. The boy had been looking like a ghost ever since the police found Soobin dead. That wasn't healthy anymore, Huening Kai felt like dying right then and there because he had to keep going on. No one knew that he had been devastated after the recent events, nobody except him.

Huening Kai flinched a bit when he heard his phone ring from somewhere in the room. He looked around and saw his phone lying on the bed, so he stood up abruptly and rushed to it knowing it must have been important since it had been a long no one except the cops or Soobin's grandmother called him.

"Hello?" He answered briskly.

"Huening Kai... son..."

The younger immediately recognized the voice of Soobin's grandmother on the other side of the line and felt tears prickling his eyes at how broken the woman had been sounding after his grandson's death. It almost sounded like she had aged ten years in a such short period.

"...Hi... Grandma," he tried to sound cheerful but it came out as more as a mumbled whisper than he had intended, "How are you?"

"The murderer of my Soobin is arrested, son," her voice cracked in a very uncharacteristic and sad way and Huening Kai was already shaking from the sudden shock. "Thank god... Thank god they found him... He will be punished for what he did to my grandson."

"Choi Beomgyu?" Huening Kai almost yelled into the phone, his whole body trembling from the sudden anger and grief inside him.

"Yes, my son. He's arrested. Can you please go to the police station and tell me how things will go? I trust you more than those cops, son. You were my grandson's best friend. If he trusted you, I trust you too."

Huening Kai was absolutely speechless, just standing there and shaking uncontrollably at the news. He wanted nothing else than to scream, but he couldn't. He didn't even know what he was feeling anymore, whether he was happy or sad about the fact that Beomgyu was arrested. He was just numb from hearing the news, his body frozen while his mind struggled to process what was happening.
