A SLY SMILE WAS CURLED ON JANG HYEJIN'S lips as she walked down the empty halls of the temple in Gisan where the monks resided. Her footsteps were silent as she made sure that no one would hear her even though she knows that the monks were already asleep at this time of the night.

She was planning this escape ever since Park Jin sent her, and her brother here to learn. She never trusted him, she, and her brother has been sent to countless of houses where Park Jin promised them that the leaders on those houses would teach them how to unlock their gate of energy, and it has been a decade since that started, and till now, they haven't casted a simple spell yet.

The only thing that they learned on the past was that no mage in Daeho, nor in other fortress would teach them how to unlock their gate of energy.

Thanks to their father Jang Gang, who threatened everyone that whoever unlocks their gate of energy would be severely punished. What kind of father does that to his own children? Well, it's Jang Gang. He knew how dangerous it is for a mage to not be able to cast a single spell, and yet, he still did it. He locked their gate of energy, and till now, Jang Hyejin, and Jang Uk has no idea why he did that.

Jang Hyejin sighed heavily as she shake those thoughts away, the last thing she wants right now is to remember her father who doesn't even give a single care about her.

Though her disappointment turns into excitement when she saw the huge door of the temple. "Finally." She mutters under her breath, she can finally go home, and not listen to another bullshit that Ho yeong tells her.

Hyejin was about to move forward when she heard a cough behind her, she squeezed her eyes shut as she knew that her cover was now busted, and her plan failed. She clenched her fist before turning around slowly, she was preparing her ears as she knew how bad this would be. But when she finally turned around, her face lit up when she realized that it was just Jang Uk, "Uk-ah!" She exclaimed in a low voice.

Jang Uk grinned, "Where do you think you're going, Hyejin-ah?" He asked as he crossed his arms, "It's already late, that's not what most girls do."

Hyejin rolled her eyes, "Im not most girls." She told him, "And why are you even here? I thought Ho Yeong told you to memorize their rules, or whatever?"

Jang Uk shrugged, "I've been doing that for three years, Hyejin." He replied, "Im the one who should be asking that question, why are you here?"

Hyejin opened her mouth to speak, but before she could even utter a single word, Jang Uk beats her to it. "Let me guess, you're here to escape?" He said, causing Hyejin to widen her eyes.

"Was i that obvious?" She asked.

"What kind of girl roams the temple at this time, Hyejin?" Jang Uk grinned, "The kind of girl who wants to escape, of course." He gave her a downward smile once he noticed the pout on her lips, "But don't worry, i won't tell them. In fact, i also plan to leave."

Hyejin arched up her brow, "Are we planning to leave the temple at the same time? We really are twins, Jang Uk!" She exclaimed.

Jang Uk crossed his arms, "Not really, i plan on leaving tomorrow." He replied. "I still have to do something before leaving this place."

Hyejin scoffed, "Are you planning to have a heart to heart talk with Ho yeong?" She teased.

Jang Uk let out a disappointed sigh that was obviously fake, "I wish." He replied.

Hyejin pouted, "This is annoying, how did you even find me?" She questioned.

"I saw you sneaking out of your chambers." Jang Uk answered.

"Jinja?" Hyejin asked, and Jang Uk nodded his head as a response. "I thought i was being sneaky back there!" She pouted, "It's getting late. I shall take my leave now before the boat leaves me."

Jang Uk grinned, "Then just swim all the way to Songrim, Hyejin!" He suggested, earning a jab by the side from his twin. His nose scrunched up in pain.

Hyejin gave him a sarcastic chuckle, "Say another word and i'll tell Choyeon how badly you want to continue the wedding." She threatened.

Jang Uk looks up at her in panic, "You won't do that to your own brother, Hyejin!" He said.

Hyejin crossed her arms, "Yeah? Try me." She challenged, a smirk curved on the corner of her lips as she waited for his reply, and she grinned when she received none. "In that case, i'll better going now."

Jang Uk pouted, "Yeah, yeah." He said nonchalantly, "I guess i'll just see you at Chwiseonru."

Jang Hyejin nodded her head, she took a step forward before pressing a soft kiss on his right cheek, "I'll be waiting then, Ukkie." She told him softly before taking a step backward, "I'll see you soon."

Jang Uk scoffed before nodding his head, "Whatever, you should go now." He urged her.

Jang Hyejin chuckled before heading towards the huge door of the temple, she glanced back at him, and saw Jang Uk waving at her. She waved back at him before walking out of the temple.

A smile curled on her lips as she approached the white horse she grew to like after spending some time at Gisan, she mounted the white horse, as she was planning to take the horse with her. Who cares about what Ho yeong or the other monks would think? Definitely not her.

Hyejin glanced at the place she grew to hate one last time before nudging the horse with her lower leg. The white horse started running, Hyejin takes a deep breath before she lifted the rein and leaned forward in the saddle, urging the horse to run faster.
