"So Ronnie," I started as I gripped his hand to keep him secure. I gently trailed the bruise with a damp cotton ball before looking up at him. "How did you get this, really?"

My voice was firm but less agitated than before. My eyes softened at the yellow coloration of bruised skin. After a few more gentle dabs I finally looked at Ronnie who was staring back at me. His face reflected nothing but anger as I could see his defensive side rise up. "Y/N, why don't you believe me? I ran into a wall, that's how I got it."

'Do I look stupid?'

"Ronnie, last time I checked walls don't have hands." I gently ran the cotton swab over the outline of fingers. Ronnie winced slightly but didn't look away surprisingly. Shifting my focus back to the bruise caused an awkward silence to fill the gaps between us. I then pulled out the cooling pad and gently pressed it onto the bruise. Ronnie let out a slight pain filled groan which caught my attention.

For a moment Ronnie faltered with his angry glare and something else filled his eyes. But as quickly as that groan came so did the swiftness of his head turning to face the wall. I could feel my annoyance spike at this but I tried to calm down and mind my words.

"Ronnie...Listen I-" I thought carefully a bit more. "I'm sorry, maybe I'm going a bit over board with my attitude. I'm just worried about you." Ronnie still kept his firm stance in not wanting to face me. If he could I know he would be crossing his arms right now. Silence filled the space between us before the tension in Ronnie's body finally broke down. He turned his head to face me with solemn eyes.

"Y-Y/N..." He stammered out as his eyes reflected reluctance and sorrow. "Y-You are right to w-worry. I'm....being bullied by someone at school." Those words left a chill running down my spine. All that I could think about was one word.

'Who?'

That part was not yet revealed. Ronnie's eyes seemed to scream a pitiful teary look. "I-I didn't want y-you to worry about me. T-This is really something you shouldn't worry over." Despite how hard Ronnie tired to downplay the information it all set off alarm bells in your head. How could he expect you not to worry about him? Expectantly with how much he...he reminds you of him.

"How could I not worry? You're someone important to me Ronnie!" The words left you effortlessly as if they had been stored away in your heart for a long time. "Tell me, who did this!" You almost begged. But despite your kind words Ronnie could only shake his head dismissively.

"I-I'm s-sorry y/n, I can't tell you." Those words echoed in your head as you couldn't help but to think about how you could convince him to do so. "I-I... can't tell you right now..." Ronnie saw your desperate gaze on him and couldn't help but want to give you hope. "I-It was really difficult t-to say anything about it. C-Could you give me some time to get c-comfortable with talking about it any further?" Reluctantly you agreed to his request. At least he was willing to tell you, just not at the moment. You sighed as you held onto his hand for a bit longer, giving it another worried squeeze.

The room fell quiet again. After what felt like forever you finally let go of his hand so he could roll down his shirt sleeve and button up his blazer. It was awkward as you tried to find any other direction to look at besides Ronnie, which led you to walk towards the doorframe. Though this decision proved itself as a mistake as the throbbing you've felt all day finally reached its worse level of pain. You tipped over as your footing was lost. Instinctively your hands moved to your pain-filled leg as you tried to massage the throbbing through your loose black pants. Ronnie saw all of this and quickly ran to your side.

"Y/N!" He yelled as he nealed to your level and looked you over before finally realizing your grip on the bent leg. "Hold on! I'll help you!" Before you could even process what was happening Ronnie gently scooped you up. His hands held the back of your thighs as well as your shoulders securely. In his arms it almost seemed like you weighed nothing at all which was surprising. He swiftly marched towards the bed he was previously sitting on and played you down carefully.

"R-Ronnie!" You couldn't help but shout as you slightly bounced on the bed below. Though that was until you felt the throbbing again. "Gah-! Damn it! That hurts like hell!" You cursed. Your eyebrows burrowed as tears nearly filled your eyes. Ronnie fixed his gaze to your leg and gently grasped your ankle. You flinched under the warmth of his hands against your black socks.

"Y/N, can I take a look?" Ronnie looked into your eyes as his gaze was full of worry. "I promise I'm not doing anything weird, just....please let me help." Sincerity rolled off of his words as you can see the comfort his eyes were trying to give you. As you searched for any reason not to trust him you found nothing but a caring boy looking back. His brown locks were pushed away from his face revealing all the small and delicate expressions that normally would have been hidden. You could see the thin line his lips were in as his whole face seemed to be grim and waiting for your answer.

"Y-Yeah, I trust you Ronnie." As those words past your lips Ronnie waisted no time in rolling up your pant leg to your thigh revealing a nasty bruise that spread across your calf. Its outer edges were still faintly red and pulsing as towards the center it faded into a purple color. Honestly you shouldn't have been walking around on it. Ronnie looked as though he was going to kill someone as he stared at the bruise. But as much as his distain was clear he waisted no more time in treating it. He went through the same motions you did when treating him, watching as his gaze remained serious the entire time.

A couple of winces escaped you as he applied pressure on sensitive areas causing your nails to dig into the bedding. Eventually despite how hard you tried not to move your leg Ronnie had to hold it still by the ankle. You froze as the feeling of his warm hand wrapped around gently an momentarily the action made you flustered as you made eye contact with Ronnie. His hair was fully away from his face now and a mature expression replaced his once childish look. Right now Ronnie looked....very different, but not in a way you were going to complain.
