"I must say boss, I'm surprised you still have your heart in ur chest after that trip" Jesper said from the table they were sat at in the Crow club,

"What heart" Inej jokes from her place besides him, she was eager to know what Kaz had gotten from the his trip to the Tilted Flats.

Kaz ignored them both and asked "bad news or bad news"

"Well I definitely prefer good news but uh, bad news it is" Jesper said,

Kaz sighed, leaning forward from where he sat across from the two, trying to make the conversation more private.

"Bad news, the Arrow wants the watch"

"Didn't we already know tha-"

"What's the other bad news" Inej cut Jesper off,

"Other bad news is" Kaz started "I know who the Arrow is"

Jespers eyes widened and Inej's did the opposite, she frowned at the new information. How could that be bad news,

Jesper spoke her thoughts "and how is that bad?"

Kaz's face stayed serious "it's bad because I know they will stop at nothing to get it. And I have no bargaining chip" he huffed,

"Well can't we just... I'd not know? Give it back" Jesper asked as if it was obvious,

"No"

"Yes"

Kaz and Inej spoke at the same time, she turned to her boss when he denied the idea. She was irritated,

"You'd rather keep that watch and let me get hunted than just give it back and let me live?" She hissed at him, trying to stay quiet in the rowdy club.

"She has a point" Jesper shrugged when Kaz gave him a look,

Kaz sighed "we cant give it back"

"And why not!" Inej was slowly getting more and more angry with Kaz. Maybe her life did mean nothing to him, maybe he didn't care. He didn't need a reason too, but she hoped she had made some sort of impact that he may actually choose her life over a scrap piece of metal that ticked.

"I have a past with the Arrow. This watch" he took it out from his pocket and displayed it in his hand "it is mine. From years ago, now she wants it back"

"She?" Jesper asked, his question went ignored as his fellow friends stared each other down,

"Then sell it, give it away. Once she" she pointed out what Jesper had said giving him a subtle nod "finds out it's in another's possession, I'll steal it back without her" another nod "knowing, before she reaches the other person. Then we are in the clear"

Kaz shook his head "we can't risk it"

"It's the only risk we can take. Other than me praying I don't get an arrow through the heart" she reasoned with him, also leaning forward to keep words quite. Jesper quietly observed, feeling the hostility from the two. What he would do to be playing at one of those tables right now...
