"What was tha'?"

"I've erected a system of timers along the line. Bits of metal hung on poles to keep me apprised of our pace" Arken told Jesper, who looked like he was shaking in his boots.

"How did you know where to put them?" Leo asked, Kaz looked her way, clearly wanting to ask the question himself. She gave him a shrug,

'Snooze ya loose'

"Physics and engineering accounts for... most of my success" Leo's brows furrowed at his Lie and Truth,

"And the rest?" Inej quipped up, Leo glanced at her then back to the Conductor.

"What we call divine intervention. What others might call luck"

Leo scoffed "for something called 'divine intervention' you couldn't of made it look a tad bit nicer" she cringed as she took a look around "my arse is numb" she huffed,

Arken ignored her, but she noticed Inej's slight smile and Jespers hidden snicker "after all, the Fold is thick with Volcra...and the tracks are not complete. Coal please."

Leo's eyes widened, she head spun to look at the man "are you mad!"

"-I'm sorry. Did you say the tracks weren't complete?!" Jesper questioned,

"I said they aren't complete"

"Again. Are you mad!?"

"What?-"

"Ah, ah, ah. No moving. We're a tad late. More coal"

Leo's head shook, looking completely baffled, she looked to Inej who's jaw was open slightly in shock and she shrugged.

"Back to the real issue. Were on tracks... that don't connect to other tracks?"

"-yes there's a gap but—"

"You said you could get us through" Kaz practically seethed, even if he hid it well under his calm-ish demeanour Leo noticed,

"How much of a gap!"

"I built slats on the car- they roll into place under the wheels. The turbine generates enough wind to push us all the way to the eastern track, as long as we don't shift our weight" he rolled his eyes,

Just then the metal timer clanked, and caught his attention and he looked down at his pocket watch.

"Honestly 'divine intervention'" Leo scoffed, "I mean the bloody dinging shakes this tin box" she complained to herself, her eyes at her feet as her head shook slowly.
