"FACING DARKNESS IS KINDA MY THING"

"The kingdom used to be peaceful once upon a time, Princess Josette placed a sleeping spell on herself to stop the darkness from spreading. A darkness so dark that turned the even most pure of souls into shells of who they use to be. It is said that the darkness shows up to those who practice the arts of-"

"Stop scarin' people off" there was the sound of a blade sharply crashing against wood. "Specially with bedtime stories"

"But the darkness is scary!"

"Please, only someone stupid would be scared of that"

A dark haired girl, wearing a blue dress with a corset, walked around the port, a sword in her hand that she was using to expertly cut off ropes and letting sacks of flour land on a cart.

An old man tipped his hat, clicking his tongue for his horse to start moving away, dragging the cart with him.

The girl was a pirate, despite the fact her family disapproved, her name? Mikayla.

Mikayla lifted her fingers, however a voice stopped her.

"Do not use your magic" there was a small girl with her, the one telling the story. She seemed to be a younger version of Mikayla, their similar blue eyes sparkled against the sunlight as they looked at each other. "Or you'll catch her attention"

"Let her come" Mikayla beamed, a flash of darkness glimmering over her blue eyes as she lowered her hand, "I'm stronger than her"

The smaller version of her looked disapprovingly up at her.

Mikayla simply smiled brightly.

A ship was preparing to sail.

There was a pirate jumping from the ship, landing swiftly next to Mikayla.

"Ready to set sail?" the pirate tipped his hat. Mikayla chuckled, "We could, you know, use a bit of a push-"

"I cannot use my magic" the girl simply told him.

"Really? Not even if I told you you'd be at the steering wheel?" the pirate suggested.

Mikayla lifted her gaze as if tempted.

It was within that moment that the sky turned dark gray, the wind picking up and dark fog appearing.

A large, dark wolf appeared within the fog, snarling towards Mikayla and the pirate.

The little version of Mikayla gasped as she ran to the older girl, accusingly, "You wanted to use your magic! That's what brought the darkness here!"

Mikayla pulled out her sword, glaring at the darkness, "It'll not get to me"

The pirate placed a hand on her forearm, stopping her, "Think clearly about this"
