14. Forever Together

I am wearing a simple yellow salwar suit. It will be ruined only in some time. We were going to have the actual haldi with all the rituals not the Holi one people celebrate these days. Mom called me downstairs and made sit in a tub completely.

My sister applied the haldi and oil on me first as a part of the ritual. They used some green leaves to apply it first on my face then neck then hand and then legs. My grandmother applied the haldi on me after them.

"Do you know why we celebrate haldi" dadi asked applying the haldi on me

"Yes, it brightens our skin" I said with a smile and she chuckled

"That and it also purifies the bond of the couple. It keeps them away from the evil eyes" she said getting up and patting my head. I nodded my head at the new information. My mother and everyone else applied haldi on me one by one after that.

It was finally time for the shower. My sister poured water on me while I was still sitting in the tub. I closed my eyes as the cold water touched my skin and everyone else chuckled as I shrieked due to the water.

I was asked to leave after that and get ready in new clothes. I took a shower and got downstairs. Everyone was busy doing something when I reached.

I looked around and felt a wave of sadness suddenly hit me. Today is my last day in the house with my mummy and papa. I walked towards mummy who was sitting in her room ironing her lehenga. I hugged her as soon as I went inside her room. She got shocked at first but composed herself a second later

"I don't want to leave you" I said and started crying. My mother hugged me back and patted my back trying to console me.

"Don't cry, you can always come here bacha and it happens with everyone" my mother said wiping my tears and I shook my head.

"But I am gonna miss you. Who will hug me like this there" I said crying even more now.

"I will miss you too bacha and I am pretty sure Arjun will hug you like this too" mummy said crying now too but still teasing me. I chuckled at this and hugged her tightly. She caressed my head and kissed on my forehead.

"You come with me to Bangalore too" I said sitting in front of her now with teary eyes

"What will Arjun say" she said wiping my tears with a smile on her face

"He will say nothing instead he will be happy. He is the sweetest" I said hugging mummy tighter.

"That's good" she said and gave me a hanky to wipe my tears

I have already reached the venue and am sitting inside a room. Priyanka and Pragya didi are here with me in the room. We are waiting for my other cousins to shoot the bridal entry video.

I am dancing on 'main chali' for this and I have been dreading this from so long. Because walking in this lehenga is a task so I don't really know how I will dance. I am definitely gonna trip and break something. I can't even remove my heel today.

"They all are here and the cameraman is also ready" Pragya didi said getting inside and I nodded my head at her. Priyanka helped me to get up and walk out. This lehenga is just too heavy. I am looking like a queen in this but still it is too heavy.

"You all take your positions" the cameraman said and we did. We all started dancing and the shot was good in the first try only as said by the cameramen.

"Can we do it once more" the camera man asked and we did. He then asked us to do it again and we did it again. And then again he asked and we did. He asked us to to it one more time again.
