This is a werewolf universe.
All wolves are grouped into three well known groups, alphas, betas and omegas.
The head of a pack is a king alpha. He's second in command is the king's beta. And the ranks follow in that order to king's gamma, king's delta etc.
A werewolf's grouping is determined by physical ability as well as DNA that is inherited from parents.
Alpha wolves are considerably fewer than betas . Betas are the vast majority worldwide. Omegas are few too but not extinct or endangered.
Each king alpha posseses a special ability that will be revealed as the story progresses.
