Again, I'm so sorry that this took me so long to get around to writing and posting, but I hope you enjoy it my love <3

You nervously clutched onto your worn-out unholy Bible in your clammy hands, your heart pounding with anxiety. You had been assigned the task of doing an important reading during the evening mass at the grand Cathedral at the weekend, but as the day drew closer, you realised that you needed help. The passage was complex, filled with archaic language and symbolism you couldn't fully grasp.

Taking a deep breath, you left your room after you mustered up the courage to seek assistance. You knew Papa, the third and enigmatic, charismatic leader of the clergy was always available for guidance. However, you couldn't deny the secret feelings you harbored for him. Terzo was an undeniably handsome man who had a velvety accent and an irresistible charm, and more, his naturally flirtatious nature had always made your heart flutter.

You simply couldn't bring yourself to face him. Your nerves got the best of you, and instead, you decided to seek help from Cardinal Copia, a fellow clergy member who seemed a lot more approachable. You convinced yourself that Copia's guidance would be sufficient, and that way you could avoid the awkwardness of being around Terzo.

Summoning your courage, you walked down the dimly lit corridor of the higher clergy's offices just before Copia was about to clock off from work. With a shaky hand, you knocked on the door, your heart racing. The door creaked open, revealing the cardinal in his black cassocks. He let his lips curl into a smile upon seeing your familiar face.

"Ah, Y/N, my dear." He greeted you warmly. "What brings you here, hm?" He smiled. Your eyes couldn't help but wander behind Copia and widened as you glanced inside the room.

There he was.

Terzo was lying on the sofa on the corner of Copia's office, swirling a glass of red wine in his hand. His piercing, alluring eyes were fixed on yours, and a mischievous smirk danced across his lips. You felt yourself blush instantly, feeling a rush of embarrassment course through your body.

"Oh I'm sorry. I-I didn't know that Papa was here." You stammered, your cheeks turning a deeper shade of red as he sat up and placed his glass down. "I-I will come back another time."

"No, no. Y/N, sorella!" Terzo's voice called from inside before you could turn away. "No need to be shy, dolcezza. Come on in."

"Come on love, he won't bite." Copia smiled, holding the small of your back. "Here, have a seat. Tell me, darling, what seems to be the problem?" Copia asked whilst Terzo patted the sofa beside him. You sat down beside him nervously, clutching the Bible tightly like a child with a teddy bear. You could feel Papa's gaze on you, and it both thrilled and unnerved you.

"It's the reading." You confessed, your voice barely above a whisper. "I'm having trouble understanding some of the verses. They're quite complex."

"Ah, I see. The one I gave you, si?" Terzo raised an eyebrow, his smirk widening. "The scriptures can be quite challenging, my dear. But fear not, I'll have a look, and I'll see what I can do to help you. May I?" He asked, motioning for you to hand over the Bible.

You hesitated for a moment before passing your book to him. As he took it, his fingers briefly brushed against yours, sending an icy shiver down your spine. He looked up and met your eyes with a mischievous grin on his face.

"What page am I looking for, love? One hundred and five? Ah, here." Papa's eyes scanned the text that his finger was following before looking up at you. "It seems you have stumbled upon a fascinating section." He smirked, his voice smooth and alluring. "But I can see why it might cause some confusion. How about we go back to my study and I'll walk you through it. It's much quieter there."
