Gavi's Perspective

We had done it. It finally happened. After all this time, all the hard work and effort, the dream finally had come true.

We won the Champions League.

As I made my way to the stage, I could help but feel proud. As the medal was placed around my neck, I could help but feel happy. As I stood with the rest of my teammates, waiting for our captain to lift the trophy, I couldn't help but feel excited. And as our captain lifted the trophy, I couldn't help but feel like I was on top of the world.

We were the kings of Europe, the team that had dominated every team in our path, including Bayern Munich, who we beat 2-0 in the finals.

All of this felt too surreal, too impossible to be actually happening. It may have taken us a while, but Barcelona is finally back where they were meant to be. On top.

Once the trophy had been lifted, we paraded around the field, showing off the trophy to the loyal fans in the stands who all watched with pride.

After that, we meet with our loved ones and listen to their praises and congratulations. I watch as some of my teammates hug their girlfriends and can't help but feel a bit envious. I turn to the stands, trying to pinpoint Mae.

"Who are you looking for?" someone asks.

I turn to my left and find Aurora standing next to me, staring into the stands as she tries to figure out what I'm looking at.

"Mmm, okay," she says mischievously.

"What is Aurora?" I groan, knowing she's clearly up to something.

"Oh, I just wanted you to meet a friend of mine," she shrugs, turning around.

A friend?

I turn around and am shocked by who I see standing in front of me.

"Gavi, I would like you to meet my friend Mae," she smiles, nudging me on the shoulder.

"Hi Gavi, it's so nice to meet you. I'm Mae," Mae says with the biggest smile on her face.

I have to admit, these girls are genius.

"Nice to meet you Mae," I laugh, reaching out to shake her hand.

"Congratulations on your win! It must be pretty exciting," she says, trying her hardest not to laugh.

"Ah yes, it is. I can't wait to tell my girlfriend all about it," I say, whispering the last part.

"I'm she can't wait," Mae blushes, staring up at me with her beautiful brown eyes.

I really wish I could kiss her right now.

She glances over to Aurora, who is making her way towards my parents, then over to the cameras lurking nearby.

"Well, I better catch up to Aurora. Besides, I wouldn't want your girlfriend to get jealous if she happened to see a picture of just the two of us," she says, nodding her head over to the cameras.

"Ah, yes you're probably right."

"I'll see you later," I whisper in her ear before she runs off.

"Was that Mae?" Pedri asks as Mae walks away.

"Yup," I shrug.

"But- How did she- What about?" Pedri says, trying to figure it all out.

"I honestly have no idea," I laugh, patting my confused friend on the back.

"How did you and Aurora even plan that?" I ask Mae over the phone.

We're currently on the plane back to Barcelona, and I'm still trying to figure out how Mae and Aurora did that.

"It was simple. To avoid suspicion, both of us posted a picture of us at the game saying how we were close friends. That way when I went onto the field with her, it wouldn't be suspicious or anything. It was a pretty simple plan," she explains.

It honestly doesn't seem simple, but I guess for a person like Mae it is. I mean, she's going to be a CEO one day.

"Sure... Simple...."

"Oh shut up. Shouldn't you be partying with your teammates? I mean, you just won the Champions League," she asks.

I look around the plane, and mostly everyone is sound asleep. We're all pretty exhausted. Bayern Munich was not an easy team to beat.

"Eh, everyone is pretty much asleep," I admit.

"Awww, and you're awake talking to me. How sweet," she smiles.

"Anything for you love."

"Ughhh, can you shut up Gavi. You're gonna make me sick," Pedri groans.

"How about you shut up," I mutter.

"Haha, what's all that about?" Mae asks.

"Oh you know. Just Pedri being an asshole. Nothing new. I should probably go though before I wake this whole plane up," I sigh.

"Okay. Make sure you get lots of sleep, because I'm sure you still have a lot of party to do in the future. Can't wait to see you on the parade bus."

"I'll try to find you, okay? Goodnight love," I smile.

"Goodnight Gavi," she says before hanging up.

The second she's gone, I'm sleeping.

Let's all hope that Barcelona wins the Champions League very soon! Anyways, sorry for a bit of a shorter chapter. It was a bit of a filler and let's just say that next chapter things start to get interesting..... Next chapter is coming out on Saturday! (7/22/23)
