Yvonne's eyes fluttered open, the warmth of the sunlight streaming through the nursery window brightening the tiny, perfect lines that had formed on Marley's palm.

She idly traced the grooves with her index finger, lost in thought as she rocked her five-month-old daughter, Marley, gently in her arms.

The sweet scent of baby shampoo filled the air, mixing with the familiar musk of her skin, and Yvonne couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness as she thought Mark.

She couldn't help but wonder how everyone else was doing today if they were eventually finding a way to move forward after the loss of Mark.

It was a loss that had affected them all, but for Yvonne, it felt almost impossible to heal from.

Yvonne remembered the moment they lost him, tears streaming down her face, sitting on the cold hospital floor in Jackson's arms, unable to find the words to express her grief.

She wished she could have ignored some of the pain, and could have found some way to make it easier for herself to cope.

As she continued to rock her baby girl, Yvonne leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to the top of Marley's head.

"You know," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion.

"Uncle Mark would have been the best godfather for you in the whole world. He would have told you stories about the stars, and he would have taken any chance to pamper you. And he would have loved you more than anything else in the world."

Tears welled up in Yvonne's eyes as she imagined the moment Marley could have had with Mark if he'd still be there, the memories they could have made.

But for now, all she could do was cherish the moments she had with her daughter, and hope that someday, somehow, everyone would find the strength to move past the pain and find happiness again.

She kissed Marley's tiny cheek, wiping away an eyelash that fell on her cheek.

"And when you grow up, if you ever find someone who makes your heart feel the way Uncle Mark did, you'll know what it's like to be truly loved," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly.

"And you'll remember him, and you'll honor him, just like we will."

As if sensing her mother's emotions, Marley let out a soft coo, her big blue eyes focusing intently on Yvonne's face.

The weight of grief seemed to lift a little as Yvonne smiled down at her daughter, feeling the warmth of Mark's last memory wrapping itself around them both like a protective blanket.
