The next morning Yelena rolled over finding the other side of the bed empty, making her wonder if it was all a dream, until she inhaled his scent. She slowly sat up and saw him putting his shoes on quietly.

"No goodbye?"

Derek smiled to himself before he looked over to her, "Well it's 10.56, figured explaining this to Stiles is not what either of us needs."

Yelena nodded and let out a small chuckle "Fair point-" Yelena pursed her lips and began twiddling her fingers "You're going away, aren't you?"

Derek crouched down in front of her "I need to figure stuff out. I'll be back soon."

"Soon?" She said with raised eyebrows.

"Yeah, thank you for last night."

She smiled as he walked towards her window and opened it, "Derek?"

"Hm?"

Yelena got out of bed and looked at him awkwardly, "What scared you more last night? The idea of the twins ripping me apart...or the fact that they could give me the bite."

Derek sighed and looked over at her. Yelena knew it was a touchy subject but she figured they were past the point of keeping secrets "Len-"

"Lena!" Stiles called as he opened her door

"Stiles!" Yelena panicked as she quickly looked back to Derek to help come up with an explanation but found that he was already gone. She ran her hand over her face in frustration as she looked back to her brother and sighed

"What's wrong?" He frowned.

"Nothing" she muttered, "nothing at all."

Yelena stood with her arms crossed in Derek's loft as Cora recounted a story about when Peter and Derek had hidden from hunters for a few days in their youth. She hadn't told anyone about the fact that she was the last person who had seen Derek. Stiles kept pacing while Cora spoke and stared out into the rain. Yelena's eyes scanned the room as she remembered all the memories she and Derek had here, unfortunately, the last one being watching Boyd die in his arms.

"They were there for two days, waiting, hiding. That's what we're taught to do when the hunters find us... hide and heal."Cora finished.

"Okay, so is two days standard, then, or are we thinking Derek's on, like, some extended getaway?" Stiles exclaimed sarcastically.

"Why do you care?" Cora sighed, stiles constant questions clearly annoying her.

Stiles huffed and looked at his sister with wide eyes, "Why do I care? Let's see... because over the last few weeks, my best friend's tried to kill himself. His boss nearly got ritually sacrificed. A girl that I've known since I was three was ritually sacrificed. Boyd was killed by alphas. I... do you want me to keep going? 'Cause I can, all right? For, like, an hour."

Yelena's jaw twitched as she listened to them both

"You think Derek can do anything about that?" Cora replied.

"Well, since he's the one everyone seems to be after, it's more like he should do something about it, yeah." Stiles shrugged.

"Stiles stop!" Yelena snapped at him, finally speaking for the first time as she shot her brother a look "This isn't Derek's fault. All Dereks been doing since this started is try to protect us."

Cora interrupted their conversation "There's something different about him now. He wasn't like this when I knew him."

"What was he like?" Stiles asked curiously.

Yelena didn't need to know an answer, she knew what Derek was like. It didn't matter who he was then he was still the same person in her eyes.

"A lot like Scott, actually-" The three of them looked up from the sound of Peter's voice walking down the stairs, with his usual annoying expression. "Hope that's not awkward for you Len...by the way it's good to have you back" She gave him a sarcastic smile as he continued, "Anyway like most teenagers, he was... unbearably romantic, profoundly narcissistic, tolerable really only to other teenagers."
