Part 24

It's been 3 weeks. England are soaring in the Euros, winning every game so far and they are in the knockout stages. You have talked to Leah every day. Today is the scan, Leah couldn't get the day off, not without a proper reason due to her being the captain. She debated telling Sarina about the baby just so she could go but didn't want to break that promise. You are okay with going on your own, even though Leah tried her best. Leah can't call during the scan due to training so you are going alone.
Midwife: "just you today?"
Y/n: "yeah my wife couldn't get off work"
Midwife: "training for the euros? You must be so proud"
Y/n: "ye-yeah"
Midwife: "I recognised you both when you walked through the door, but don't worry, I won't say a word to anyone until you have announced it yourselves."
Y/n: "thank you"
Midwife: "right let's see your baby shall we"
Y/n: "please"
The midwife puts the gel on your stomach and starts scanning. She has a concerned look on her face.
Y/n: "what? What is it?"
Midwife: "I just need to get a second opinion, I'll be back in just a second"
The midwife leaves and you start tearing up. You call Leah even though you know she can't pick up. You call her multiple times just so she knows it's urgent. You really need her so you call reception of the ground they are staying at, you say it's urgent. They take the phone to the training ground where everyone is.
Receptionist: "Sarina, it's y/n, she wants Leah, she says it's urgent"
Sarina: "LEAH!"
Leah runs over.
Leah: "what's up?"
Sarina: "it's y/n, she says it's urgent"
Leah grabs the phone.
Leah: "babe?"
Y/n: "im sorry I know you're training but somethings wrong"
Leah: "why what's happening?"
Y/n: "no one's telling me, the midwife said she needed a second opinion and I don't know what's going on"
Leah: "it's going to be okay, the baby is going to be okay"
Sarina looks over at Leah after she hears that.
Sarina: "Leah? Why didn't you tell me! I'd have given you the afternoon off"
Leah: "I promised, babe? It's all going to be okay"
Sarina: "Leah, go, please, just go be there for her"
Leah: "thank you, I'll make up for it tomorrow"
Leah runs off into the changing rooms and rings you off her phone
Leah: "baby? Have they said anything?"
Y/n: "no, I need you"
Leah: "im on my way okay, I'm on my way, I'll be 10 minutes"
Leah rushes out of the building, gets in a car and goes straight to the hospital.
She gets there before the midwife has said anything. She kisses your head and holds your hand.
Leah: "im here, what's going on?"
Y/n: "thank you"
Midwife: "so, I missed something on the first scan"
Leah: "how?! How did you miss something?!"
Y/n: "baby, relax"
Leah: "sorry sorry, I'm just scared"
Midwife: "there's nothing wrong, nothing wrong at all"
Y/n: "so what is it?"
Midwife: "you are having twins"
Leah: "twins?"
Leah looks at you.
Leah: "twins, 2 babies?"
Midwife: "I understand this is a lot to take in, but there are definitely two babies"
She turns the screen and you see two little blobs on the monitor.
She points to each one and their heartbeats.
Y/n: "twins"
Leah: "babe we are having twins"
Leah hugs and kisses you.
Y/n: "sorry I pulled you out of training for that"
Leah: "babe it's fine, we are having twins!"
Y/n: "you had to tell Sarina didn't you"
Leah: "she overheard me say the baby will be fine so she told me to go"
Y/n: "we can tell people now at least"
Leah: "come on, I'll get you home"
Y/n: "no I want to come with you"
Leah: "I'll ask Sarina okay?"
Leah steps out of the room whilst you get ready to go.
Leah: "she said it's fine, training has finished"
Y/n: "okay, let's go"
You head to the lionesses camp to see everyone. Leah walks in holding your hand tightly. Everyone is chilling in the relaxation room.
Leah: "I brought a visitor"
Beth: "Y/N!"
Beth runs up and hugs you.
Y/n: "hey Beth"
Lucy: "hey sis!"
Lucy hugs you tightly.
Lucy: "I've missed you"
Y/n: "I've missed you too"
The rest of the girls all hug you.
Ella: "so what brings you here?"
Leah: "we had a little scare didn't we, but everything is perfect and she wanted to see you all"
Lucy: "a scare about what? Is everything okay?"
Y/n: "it's perfect"
Alessia: "come on guys, what?"
Leah: "well, we have some big news"
Y/n: "you are gaining two members of the team"
Alessia: "what? Where are they?"
Y/n: "they will be here in around 6 months"
Lucy: "you're pregnant?!"
Leah: "with twins"
Lucy: "Ahhhh I'm going to be an auntie"
Lucy hugs you instantly.
Beth: "awww congratulations guys! Two mini Leah's, god help us"
Everyone laughs. You stay for an hour before you have to get home.
Leah: "I'll see you soon okay?"
Y/n: "yeah, I love you"
Leah: "I love you all too"
Leah kisses you and you leave camp.

You get home and go to bed, you are exhausted. It's been a long emotional day and you wish Leah was with you so she could just hold you and your babies.

The next few weeks go pretty quickly, you go to every of the games, supporting Leah alongside her family. You and Leah want to tell her family together so you are trying to hide your bump, which is becoming more visible due to you having twins.

The lionesses win the euros. Lead by Leah and you are so proud that you were there to witness this pinnacle moment in Leah's life. You go to the after party, you only stay for a couple of hours.
You go back home after saying bye to Leah for the last time.

The next day. You are waiting for Leah to get home. She told you she's on her way. You are sat on the sofa watching tv when you hear the key in the lock.
You jump and and run to hug her.
Leah: "im hom- oh hey"
She wraps her arms around you and kisses you.
Leah: "you only saw me yesterday"
Y/n: "yeah but you're home, I get to sleep next to you tonight, me and our babies get to sleep next to you tonight"
Leah: "I can't wait, I've missed you three"
Leah kisses your bump.
Leah: "I think we need to tell my family soon, my mum was asking why you weren't drinking"
Y/n: "okay, tonight or tomorrow?"
Leah: "tonight? I kinda already invited them round"
Y/n: "okay, sounds good"
You and Leah get the house ready for her family to come over. It's 7pm and they start arriving.
Amanda: "we are here, anyone home?"
Leah: "hi mum"
Amanda: "hello my European champion"
Amanda hugs Leah. You come out of the kitchen.
Amanda: "how are you y/n? You look well"
Y/n: "im tired but I'm okay"
Everyone else turns up a few minutes later. You are all sat around the dinner table eating a takeaway.
Leah: "so we have some news"
David: "everything okay?"
Jacob: "no dad, they are obviously getting divorced"
Leah hits his arm.
Amanda: "Jacob don't be silly, you aren't are you?"
Leah: "no mum, of course we aren't"
Y/n: "it's good news, great news"
Amanda: "tell me then, the suspense is killing me"
Leah: "we are going to have two additions to the family in 6months"
Amanda: "you're pregnant?!"
Leah: "y/n is with twins"
Amanda: "AHHHHH I'm going to be a grandma!!"
Amanda stands up and hugs you both.
Jacob: "boys or girls?"
Leah: "we find that out next week, if we want to find out"
Amanda: "this is so great! David, we are going baby shopping tomorrow"
Y/n: "sorry about that David"
David: "don't apologise! This is fantastic news"
David hugs you.
The family all celebrate with you, you tell them you aren't putting it on social media for another couple of months just so the babies can grow a bit first and make sure there are no complications.

The next few days you and Leah are relaxing and online shopping for the babies.

Leah is cooking, you are sat at the breakfast bar.
Y/n: "babe?"
Leah: "yeah"
Y/n: "I think we should move"
Leah: "move?"
Y/n: "I want our kids to grow up with a garden and their own bedrooms"
Leah: "but I love this flat"
Y/n: "so do I, but I don't want my kids to grow up here, I want them to run around and have their own rooms when they are a little older"
Leah: "okay babe, yeah, that makes sense"
Y/n: "do you want that too?"
Leah: "of course I do, you know I want that for them"
Y/n: "so let's move then"
Leah: "I don't want to sell this place"
Y/n: "we don't have to"
Leah: "okay"
Leah kisses you then continues cooking.

You have dinner whilst talking about houses and where you'd both want to live. Somewhere near the training ground but out of the city. You have found the perfect house and are viewing it tomorrow.

The next day you view the house. It's perfect, 4 bedrooms, a big garden and a homely kitchen. It's a 15 minute drive to arsenals training ground and has great schools all around. You and Leah put an offer in, it gets accepted straight away. That's it. You've bought your first house together. You move in a day before you find out the genders of the babies. You are a little stressed but you are just happy to have a house where your kids can run around.

It's the day of finding out the genders. You don't really mind what you have, as long as they are healthy.
Midwife: "everything looks great, they are growing at the normal rate for twins which is excellent. Would you like to know what you are having?"
Leah: "yes please"
Y/n: "yes"
Midwife: "okay, so baby A is a little boy"
Leah smiles and kisses you.
Midwife: "and baby B, is also a little boy"
Y/n: "two little boys"
Leah: "our baby boys"
Leah kisses you. The midwife sets up your next appointment and take you go home.
Leah: "twin boys baby, twin boys!"
Y/n: "I know, it's going to be hectic in our house isn't it"
Leah: "most definitely"
