Part 29

The next few weeks go so quickly. The boys are acting up, constantly fighting and crying. I've been really struggling whilst Leah's been with the lionesses.
Y/n: "BOYS! I swear one more argument and there will be no football for a week!"
Noah: "NO MUMMY!"
Y/n: "YES!"
Noah: "I want MAMA!"
Y/n: "she's not here, so you'll have to make do with me!"
Leah starts FaceTiming me.
Leah: "hey beautiful"
Y/n: "now's not a great time."
Leah: "what's going on?"
Y/n: "the boys are driving me insane"
Leah: "put them on the phone"
Y/n: "boys mama wants to talk to you"
Noah: "mamaaaaa"
Lucas: "mammaaaaa"
Leah: "you two need to be good."
Noah: "but Lucas is a bum bum"
Lucas: "no! That's you."
Leah: "oi the pair of you, pack it in. Listen to me, mummy is stressed, I need you both to be good until I'm back. Promise me?"
Noah: "promise"
Lucas: "promise"
Leah: "now go apologise to mummy"
Noah: "sorry mummy"
Lucas: "sorry mummy"
Leah: "good boys, now go brush your teeth, it's bed time"
Noah: "buts it still light outside!"
Leah: "what mama says, goes, now go on. Anymore arguing and you can't come and watch me play tomorrow"
Noah: "okay mama"
The boys run upstairs.
Y/n: "thank you"
Leah: "even though I'm not there I'm still here for you okay? I love you"
Y/n: "I love you, how was training?"
Leah: "tiring, the girls are doing well"
Y/n: "that's good, I'm glad"
Leah: "anyway babe I need to go"
Y/n: "okay my love, have a good night"
Leah: "you too, I love you"
Y/n: "I love you too"

I get the boys into bed, and relax on the sofa for a while. Leah calls me again at 9pm.
Leah: "hey wife."
Y/n: "hello wife"
Leah: "the boys still asleep?"
Y/n: "yeah, been sat on the sofa for ages bored out of my mind"
Leah: "Keira and lucy are here"
Y/n: "oh hey guys"
Lucy: "hey sis, how are my little monsters?"
Y/n: "being little monsters"
Lucy: "I bet, we have a few days before we go back to Barcelona, already asked Leah but is it okay if we come round for a couple days? Don't really get to spend much time with the boys so"
Y/n: "of course it is! Maybe you can baby sit so Leah and I can have a date night?"
Keira: "we'd love to!"
Leah: "date night?"
Y/n: "yeah, we hardly get to spend time together just us"
Lucy: "we will do it, you need that so of course"
Y/n: "thanks sis"
Lucy: "can you two give us a sec?"
Leah: "yeah I need water anyway"
Lucy: "thanks"
Keira and Leah leave the room.
Lucy: "so how are you?"
Y/n: "really? You got them to leave the room for that?"
Lucy: "ermmm yeah, it's dads birthday tomorrow, so I thought I'd just check in without them two spying on us"
Y/n: "I'm okay, dreading tomorrow even though it been 4 years."
Lucy: "you call me in the morning okay?"
Y/n: "I will, I'm going to go to his grave with the boys in a few days, they've never actually been and they are old enough to understand"
Lucy: "does Leah know about it?"
Y/n: "I don't know, she's always been here and I've told her, whether she has remembered or not is different"
Lucy: "do you want me to tell her?"
Y/n: "no no I just want to forget about it, like I normally do"
Lucy: "okay, we will go out there and play for him okay?"
Y/n: "I'll be there with the monsters"
Lucy: "okay, can't wait to see you all, it's been too long"
Y/n: "it really had"
Lucy: "I can hear them coming back now"
Y/n: "stay on the phone, I'm going to show Leah the boys before I head to bed"
Lucy: "okay"

They come back into the room, lucy passes the phone back to Leah.
Leah: "right I'll let you go babe"
Y/n: "wait, they boys wanted to say goodnight but you were busy so I'll let you say goodnight to them now"
Leah: "but they are asleep"
Y/n: "yeah but I'll sleep better knowing you said it"
Leah: "okay"

Leah says goodnight to the boys through the phone, I leave their room.
Leah: "okay beautiful, I'll see you and the boys tomorrow"
Y/n: "you will"
Leah: "I love you"
Y/n: "I love you too, sleep well"
Leah: "you too"

The call ends and I get ready for bed.
Tomorrow I get to see my wife again, after a tough few days.

I wake up at 6 like I normally do, the boys are still asleep so I make them a good breakfast, pancakes. They love my pancakes. 
A few minutes later they run down the stairs.
Noah: "morning mummy"
Lucas: "morning mummy"
Y/n: "good morning! Pancakes then off we go!"
The doorbell rings.
Noah: "doorbell!"
Y/n: "I'll go, you both eat"
I put their plates in front of them and they both start eating.
I open the door, a bunch of flowers are on the doorstep.

I pick them up and read the note.

My beautiful wife, don't think I've forgotten what day it is. We will win for him. He loves you and our boys so much, never forget that. Can't wait to see you later, all my love, Leah x

I couldn't love her more if I tried. She remembered.
I text her thanking her for my flowers.
Noah: "mummy can we go play?"
Y/n: "no bubba, we need to get ready to watch mama play remember?"
Lucas: "ENGLANDDDDD"
Y/n: "that's right, right come on, let's get you dressed shall we"

I get the twins dressed in their England kits with mama and the number 8 on the back. They love these kits and I love them in them.

We head to Wembley. The game is against the USA, world champions against the European champions. We get to our box with Leah's family, they all fuss over the boys.
The girls are warming up whilst I'm watching with the boys. Leah waves at us. The boys shout mama and wave back. They love her so much, it's adorable.

The game starts pretty well, England dominating most areas of the pitch. Leah is playing well, she assisted Beth in a goal which we all screamed at. Around 30 minutes into the game there's a really hard challenge on Leah. One that made me cringe. I keep my eyes on her, the medics immediately run on. My heart is in my mouth. I feel so sick from worrying, the boys are sat in silence which is unusual for them at a football game. I'm watching closely, lucy runs over to check on her, she turns around with a thumbs up.
She's okay.
She's okay.
Thank fuck she's okay.
Leah stands up and waits to be let back onto the pitch.
Thank god.
The crowd scream when she's allowed back on. Their captain, but my wife. I see her blow me a kiss, she knows I stress when she goes down like that.

The full time whistle blows and England win, 2-0. The girls are buzzing even though it's just a friendly. They are so happy, running around the pitch and dancing along to the music.
This is the time that the boys get to go on the pitch, we walk down, they run towards Leah who practically gets tackled to the floor.
Leah: "hey wife"
Y/n: "hey skipper"
I kiss her softly.
Y/n: "don't do that to me again"
Leah: "I'm sorry, but I'm fine babe"
Y/n: "well I didn't know that did I?"
Leah: "I love you"
Y/n: "I love you more"
Noah: "AUNTIE LUCY"
The twins run over to lucy. They love her so much it's too cute.
Lucy: "hi my little monsters"
Lucy runs off with the boys whilst Leah and I talk.

Leah: "I've missed you"
Y/n: "it's only been 5 days"
Leah: "five days too long, normally you are with me"
Y/n: "5 more days then you can be"
Leah: "that's too far away"
Y/n: "no it's not"
Leah: "trust me it is"
Y/n: "I love you, you know that right?"
Leah: "not as much as I love you"
I lean in and kiss her again, this week has been so difficult with the boys, but knowing Leah still has my back is the best feeling.
Leah: "now I've been thinking about the baby thing"
Y/n: "we've only tried twice babe, there's still time"
Leah: "maybe we should take a pause on trying"
Y/n: "why?"
Leah: "because we are happy, the boys are happy, another baby in a couple years is all I'm saying, until the boys are in school"
Y/n: "okay, sounds like a plan"
Leah: "okay, doesn't mean we stop practicing though"
You laugh loudly.
Leah: "whatttt I'm being serious"
Y/n: "yeah yeah okay"
