2017:

(Y/n's) POV:

"NOOO!" Katsumi and I cried together.

"How are we already out of Funfetti pancake mix?" I huffed.

Shaking the empty blue box, I was disappointed to see that no one threw this out.

I literally bought this last week.

"Who the hell leaves an empty box in the pantry?" I sweat dropped.

"Oh, that was me," Katsumi giggled. "My bad. I got bored when you were sleeping at our last sleepover, so I was eating it."

"Like pancake mix and milk?" I questioned, though I already knew her answer.

"Nah, I was just taking spoonfuls out of the bag."

I mentally facepalmed, as I threw the box out. "Y'know, this is what I got the brownie mix for."

"Well, sorry." The black-haired girl crossed her arms. "I was in the mood for rainbow."

"Rainbow? That's a new one." After we laughed together, I proposed a solution. "Let's just go and buy some more!"

It was only three in the morning, and the food market nearby is open twenty-four hours, so that meant it was time for a late-night shopping trip.

"Yippie!" My best friend cheered.

I slowly opened the door to me and my husband's room, only to find the man fast asleep. Silently tip-toeing over to the nightstand, I grabbed my wallet. Mikey did turn over in his sleep, facing me, but he was still out cold.

Phew, I thought I woke him up. Explaining my midnight grocery shopping spree would be very tedious.

After slipping out of the room, putting on our shoes, and leaving silently, we began our ten-minute walk to the store. Honestly, there's not that many people out and about at this time. The streets are pretty much dead, except for the occasional drunk, stumbling their way home.

If only we noticed the strange man who was following us.

Immediately, upon entering the food market, we wasted no time in rushing over to the breakfast aisle to grab our beloved Funfetti pancake mix.

"Hear me out," I blurted. "What if we get glow sticks for no apparent reason?"

"That's so random," Katsumi snickered. "Let's do it!"

After tossing the blue box into the shopping cart, my best friend and I skipped over to the party aisle, grabbing five fifty-count bags of glow sticks (for good measure).

"Oh 'em gee!" The black-haired girl's scream basically echoed through the empty store, as she pointed to something. "Shark!"

"Shark?" I raised a brow, before lifting my head to see a net, which held a bunch of balloons. "Oh, shark balloon!"

Following a good two minutes of admiring the shark balloons, the two of us picked out a great white shark, just because.

"Did we need anything else?" I asked.

"Well, we can't go wrong with ice cream!" Katsumi laughed.

"Hell yeah!" I smiled, before remembering something. "Oh shit! I think we ate the last bag of popcorn. I'll go get that, while you go get the ice cream; we'll meet back at the cash registers."

"Works for me!"

Just as I got to the snack section, my phone began to ring.

Who the hell is up at this hour, aside from Katsumi and I of course?
