2005:
All eyes were now on Mikey, heavily panting as he looked over the three men he had taken down in seconds. I shouldn't have been as surprised as I was when he lost all of his strength and fell to his knees.
I smiled, as I caught the boy and gently laid him down. "You did great." Standing up, I could hear the sound of metal clattering as more Valhalla members began to ascend the scrap tower. "You can leave the rest to me."
People climbed from all sides, forcing the structure to shake. Having no other choice, I stayed beside Mikey, taking out those who got the closest.
This would be so much easier if I was on solid ground.
As I struggled to move, I noticed that the last standing captain of Valhalla charged at me with a baton.
Running on an unstable piece of metal is just asking for it.
Just as I prepared myself to grab the baton and kick him off of the mountain, Kisaki ran up in front of me, kicking the guy to the ground.
"Thanks, but I could've handled that myself," I frowned.
The boy with glasses just glared at me, before facing the majority of our assailants. "I'm Tokyo Manji Gang's Third Division captain, Tetta Kisaki! Our division is here to protect our commander from all enemy threats!"
More ex-Moebius members, who we adopted after the previous fight, formed a barrier around Mikey and I, before beating up our enemies on sight.
Using this second to breathe, I found it strange that this was the first time I saw Kisaki since the fight began.
I do appreciate this gesture, but I'm almost certain that he's up to something. Is he sucking up to Mikey, so he can try to argue that he's more useful as his second hand?
"Kisaki!" Draken shouted. "Good work! I'm leaving Mikey in the hands of you and (Y/n)!"
Even Draken is looking at Kisaki, like he's a hero. I should be supportive of Mikey's choices, but my mind is stopping me from seeing this guy in a good light. He hasn't done anything wrong to me, but it feels like he has.
Glancing over to Takemichi, I noticed the horrified expression on his face.
This is definitely a setup, but at least I have a little break.
"Mikey." I shook the boy's shoulder, but gained no response. "Mikey, wake up."
He remained silent, leading me to grab onto his hand and reassuringly squeeze it.
I guess that's what a blow to the head with a steel pipe will do. He'll be okay. He always makes it out in the end.
A loud slamming noise led me to turn my head to the side. There Baji stood, looming over the Third Division's captain, with a steel pipe; a pair of shattered glasses fell onto the pile of rubble.
What is with people and steel pipes today?
My old friend glanced at me, before turning back to face the blonde he had just hit. "Get your ass up, Kisaki! I'm not done with you yet! Get up! I wanna jack up your face so bad, that no one will even recognize you!" He grinned, as he looked over to me. "You gonna stop me?"
Huh, maybe Chifuyu wasn't so off after all.
"I don't fight friends." Lowering my head, I hushed my voice, so that only Baji could hear. "Honestly, you're doing me a favor."
"That's what I thought."
"Baji, stop it!" Draken commanded.
"We're going to take you back to Toman, when this is all over!" Mitsuya shouted.
