2005:
Mikey's smile immediately faded into a frown, upon meeting eyes with Taiju. "Well, if it isn't Black Dragon."
"Mikey, I'm sorry; this whole situation is my fault," Mitsuya apologized.
He bowed, leading me to follow. "I'm also to blame for this. Please, forgive me."
"Not true!" Hakkai shouted.
"It was my idea to form a truce with them, then I went ahead and broke it." The silver-haired boy lifted his head. "I'm sorry, Mikey, they're fighting because of me."
The blonde smiled, looking up at the ceiling. "Shinichiro always liked that; the sound of your impulse."
"Huh?"
"Even Baji used to talk about it. I remember he said to me one time, 'listen to how Mitsuya's bike purrs'." My boyfriend adopted a more serious face and tone. "Shinichiro and Baji led me here tonight."
I left him alone for one night, and now he's going on bike rides with ghosts. That's a new one.
"Mikey, are you okay?" I questioned.
Ignoring me, he looked over at Taiju, who towered over him. "So, I guess these are the three you've been fighting."
"So, at last we meet!" Black Dragon's leader evilly grinned. "The Invincible Mikey, huh?!"
"Why are you interfering here? All I want is to be able to ride with my guys and my girl again." Mikey's monotone expression quickly switched into a pissed one. "If Mitsuya, Rin, or (Y/n) were to die here today, it would only make my brother and Baji sad."
"Mikey?" I called out to him again, earning the same response: nothing.
With a psychotic grin, Taiju launched himself, punching the blonde in the nose and sending him straight to the ground, knocking him out just like he did to Hakkai. He then stood up, leaving Mikey motionless on the floor with a stream of blood dripping from his mouth.
Our surprised gasps overlapped with the sound of the clock chiming midnight.
"Mikey, wake up!" We all shouted.
There's no way he was taken down with one punch! I knew that he was getting weaker mentally, but physically too?! Was Kisaki actually right about that?
Every fiber of my body wanted to beat the shit out of the man before me, but the adrenaline was beginning to wear off; the only thing keeping me standing was the bench I was leaning on.
Taiju maniacally laughed, before celebrating. "Even the bells of Christmas are ringing in celebration of my victory! Today, the great Taiju has defeated the Invincible Mikey!"
"This can't be!" Takemichi shakily breathed. "With one punch?!"
"Taiju!" Mitsuya hollered the man's name, before charging at him. "You're dead meat!"
Before the silver-haired boy got anywhere close to the guy, he stopped dead in his tracks, watching as a pissed off Mikey stood up.
"Prayer time is over," he asserted.
The older Shiba brother grinned, as Inui walked over and joined the conversation. "You should know when you're beat, Manjiro Sano. Just admit to yourself that you're no match for our boss. So, now you see, you're no more significant to the face of Taiju's power than a pebble inside his shoe!"
"The fact that you absorbed my hardest punch does earn you some respect," Taiju smirked. "I guess it's gonna take more than one to put you down for good."
