EVANGELINA
—————————

"Hi!" That was the first thing she said to me. The girl, the maid stepped into my room not even a minute ago and she had a small smile on her face.

Her hair was again slicked back in a high bun. She had the same uniform as always and her hands were hidden behind her.

"Umm... hi." I waved at her. Today I was dressed in the same set of sweatpants and t-shirt only this time they were in dark emerald color. My hair was up in a messy ponytail.

She stood at the entrance, the door was not closed and the guard was standing there at the front.

"Sir said that I should give you this." Her hands moved and she brought them in front of her. Extending her left one, she had my notebook.

Oh my... my notebook was finally here.

I ran to her and snatched the leather-covered notebook. It was a gift from my uncle for my seventeenth birthday. The cover was made of black leather and the letter E was pressed on with a gold color. It was truly beautiful.

I have been using it since then. I know it's a long time but it means a lot and I can't just keep it in my drawers to collect dust.

Running my hand over it, I opened the pages. Everything was the same except... there were three pages missing. What the heck?

I ruffled through it a couple of times, maybe I have ripped them and folded them inside in the past. But no. They were nowhere to be found.

I don't even know what I might have written on them. The rest of the notebook was as before. Everything else was in its place.

"Is there something wrong?" The girl asked.

"No. Everything's fine." I barely said the words. She didn't have a tray of food in her hands which made me question what was going on. She only comes into this room to bring me food and nothing else.

"Sir also said that you are allowed to go outside of your room. He requested that I show you around a little." She seemed excited, her hands were clasped in front of her while she moved back and forth on her feet.

My eyes widened at her words. Did he really... He considered what I said to him yesterday.

I must be in a dream because this doesn't seem real.

"Let's go." She said and turned around. I stayed rotted in my place, not knowing what to do. What if this was some kind of trick? But there is no way that the girl would do that. She seemed scared of him.

She spun her head. Her eyebrows inched upwards.

I walked to my bag and placed the notebook inside before securing the zip. I patted it as if telling the notebook to not go anywhere.

I straightened myself up and while taking a deep breath, I made my way over to the door. I stepped outside and the guard didn't say anything. He just closed the door behind me.

The hallway that I was running through was made out of marble floor in a beautiful black color. The walls were white and everything was decorated with simple, navy, and beige colors.

Because that day I was in a rush, I didn't appreciate the art that was hanging on the walls. It was truly beautiful. Like something I've never seen before. They looked to be unique pieces. On the bottom, they were signed with Japanese letters.

I must have stopped to observe them because I heard her voice again.

"This is the East wing hallway where Sir's room is. It's on the very end but he requested not to go there." She pointed with her finger to my right. The hallway was long and there were a few more doors till you reached the very far end.
