𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 39: Messed Up

Strеssing, desperate
Rеstless, fucked up again
Living life and risking to get it
But you know I messed up

I was down, givin' up
Gave me love I didn't deserve
I wasn't worth it
You tried to show me what was right
I didn't wanna learn

Omniscient

"My beautiful ray of sunshine

"My beautiful ray of sunshine." Amerie mumbled into the dimness of the hospital room, her eyes glued down at her baby in her arms who quietly drank from her. Everything still felt surreal from the level of bliss she found herself attempting to come down from, every passing hour felt like a new wave of emotion came over her regarding the fact she held her baby. The one she shared with the love of her life.

"She so little and them eyes wide open." Syre  shook his head from where he sat in the bed next to Amerie, looking down to his daughter whose bright eyes gradually looked to him.

Amerie wouldn't let him get up, wanting to be as close as possible to him and her daughter. This was her family, that took 3 years to build and get right regardless of the fact they were still working. Her daughter was her peace, and he was her sanity.

"I know, she's a doll." Amerie cooed down to her baby who was finishing up her feeding. "The breastfeeding isn't that difficult, the nurse told me so far I seem to have a good supply." She glanced up at Syre briefly, before putting her focus back down on the baby who unlatched from her.

"Yo ass sure do got a good supply, these titties ain't ever been this big." He mumbled, running his tongue over his lips slowly. His eyes intook what he could see of her body, watching her cover herself back up to fix the baby along her shoulder to burp.

"And you don't even get to play with them, sucks to be you-."

"Sucks to be who? A lil milk ain't stopping shit round here, imma be drinking the same shit my baby drinking-."

"You are not drinking my breast milk you weirdo." Amerie laughed, pushing his arm gently. Laughing himself, Syre's eyes went up to the baby who lay fading in and out of sleep while Amerie gently tapped and rubbed at her back.

"Lay her down real quick." He nudged his head towards the bassinet right next to the bed, seeing Malani's eyes shut in another nap.

Pursing her lips, Amerie looked to him with a small frown lining her features. "Baby, I like holding her-."

"2 minutes Amerie, she gon be right next to us. She not going nowhere." He mumbled, pressing his lips into the soft cheek of the small baby. He couldn't get over the beauty of his daughter, just a little over a day old.
