Harry was nearly bouncing as he led Sirius, Remus, and Regulus into the bank to go visit the portraits in the family vault. He turned around and grinned at Regulus, who was coming with for the first time today. He had a few questions for the older Potters about magic that wasn't taught at Hogwarts anymore. He was also curious to know if any of the Potters had known Tom Riddle, as Harry had informed them that he became the Dark Lord.

As they arrived at the vault, Regulus smiled as Harry greeted each portrait happily, dragging Regulus behind him to introduce him, and then went to sit right in front of the oldest portrait with a suddenly serious expression after introducing the Peverell brothers to him. Regulus shook his head and went back to Charlus and Dorea, who were about the right age to have possibly known Riddle, or have known someone who knew Riddle, and conjured a stool for himself.

"Hello," he greeted. "Harry was in a bit of a rush to go meet his great grandparents, so he didn't get a chance to tell you my name." He smirked, then grinned fondly at the fourteen year old at the other end of the vault. "I'm Regulus Black. Sirius is my brother."

"Oh, it's nice to meet you dear. I'm Dorea, and this is Charlus. Harry, the sweetheart he is, must have some questions for Ignotus. He usually does. I'm sure he'll be back after a while." She rolled her eyes fondly, then looked down at Regulus more shrewdly. "I'm actually your great aunt, I believe. Walburga was my niece. Awful woman." She shuddered delicately, and Regulus scowled in agreement.

"If you don't mind, I'd like to ask you a few questions," he said after a moment.

"Oh of course, dear! We're family! Isn't that right, Charlus?" Dorea asked with a slight glare towards her husband.

"I don't know why you're glaring at me, darling, if the lad wants to ask questions I'm willing to answer, as long as it's nothing about family secrets."

"Oh, nothing like that. I merely wanted to know about what magic you were taught in Hogwarts, and how different it is to now, or even my generation about twenty years ago."

Charlus spoke up first. "Well, we had Latin of course. We all started that in first year, along with basic Magical Theory."

Dorea interrupted him. "don't forget about Warding and Spellcrafting."

"Just because you were a Ravenclaw, dear, doesn't mean all of us took the advanced classes in sixth year," Charlus laughed, rolling his eyes.

"You were glad of my knowledge with wards when we built our own house," she said tartly.

"Yes, I was, but that class would have gone right over my Gryffindor head."

Regulus spoke up again. "Sorry to interrupt, but what was Magical Theory? That class was gone by the time I got to Hogwarts. We just learned spells in Charms and Transfiguration."

Dorea looked aghast. "Just learned spells in Charms and Transfiguration! What about wandless magic? And Enchantment! Charms and Transfiguration! Next you'll be telling me the headmaster's idea of Defense is muggle wrestling!"

Regulus winced. "No, we learned some jinxes and curses too, but the Defense class is horrible. There's some curse or something on it. There hasn't been a single professor for more than a year since before Sirius started."

Charlus looked alarmed. "Really! How did you get a good education! That many different teachers, it must have been chaos!"

"Self-study for the years we had bad teachers, and we had a few good teachers."

"Well that's something at least," Dorea replied with a huff. "Back to Magical Theory. All magic has a specific..." she seemed at a loss for words for a moment.
