"No."

"No, it's a beautiful dress.... or just no."

"No."

"But why?" Y/N whined, slumping down on Marinette's soft bed. The purple-pink comforter engulfed her and she welcomed the warm feeling. Her rather uncomfortable white dress began to slip off her shoulder.

"I will NOT allow you to wear some cheap, off-brand wedding dress!" Marinette placed one hand on her hip and the other on her chin. She looked as if she was solving a difficult math equation.

"The wedding is in a month- which means you have-"

"Marinette, this is all I can afford... I don't think it's that bad?"

Marinette let out a sigh and spun around in her chair. "Adrien is rich, you know he would buy you a dress in an instant if you asked."

Y/N bit her lip. She knew that was true. She knew that Adrien would do anything for her, but when he had offered to buy her an expensive dress; she declined and said she would wear her mothers.

To be fair, it wasn't a complete lie. She had tried her mothers but it was worn out, yellow from the age and it barely fit.

"He already tried."

"And you said no?" Marinette's mouth fell open and she shook her head, hair bouncing in the process.

"He's already spending so much money on this wedding, why would I need him to buy me a dress i'm going to wear ONCE." She emphasized the last word and sat up straight again.

Marinette sighed, crossing the room to sit beside Y/N on the bed. "You're not a burden to him, and this isn't just about the dress. It's about allowing him to share every part of this journey with you, to make your dreams come true together."

Y/N's eyes glistened with a mix of gratitude and uncertainty. "But what if I disappoint him by not being the perfect bride?"

Marinette smiled warmly, placing a reassuring hand on Y/N's shoulder. "Y/N, Adrien loves you for who you are, not for some perfect image. If you're happy, he'll be happy. Let him be a part of this, not just as your fiancé but as someone who wants to make your dreams come true."

Y/N sighed, a mixture of emotions playing on her face. "I just... I don't want to let him down."

Marinette hugged her friend, whispering, "You won't. And I promise you, wearing a dress that makes you feel beautiful won't be a disappointment to anyone, especially not to Adrien."

The wedding unfolded with a mix of simplicity and genuine joy. Y/N, now dressed in a gown that felt just right, exchanged vows with Adrien, their promises filled with sincerity and a touch of humor.

When he saw her walking down the aisle, her mother holding her arm gently, tears pricking her eyes and a bright smile on her face; Adrien couldn't help but feel tears too.

The love of his life was approaching him, and in that moment he didn't want to be anywhere else.

The wedding progressed and they danced after the reception, surrounded by friends and family, the worries about the dress seemed like a distant memory. Laughter echoed through the venue, and Y/N caught Marinette's eye, sharing a moment of understanding that went beyond words.

The couple's love was palpable, not just in the carefully chosen words of their vows but in the stolen glances, the shared smiles, and the easy camaraderie between them. It wasn't a fairy tale, but it was real, raw, and uniquely theirs.

Throughout the evening, friends toasted to the newlyweds, sharing stories that reflected the couple's authenticity. Adrien's eyes sparkled with pride, and Y/N felt a deep sense of contentment, realizing that the imperfections and compromises were what made their love story truly special.

The DJ played a mix of favorite songs, and the dance floor became a place where guests, regardless of their dancing skills, celebrated the union of two people deeply in love.

The wedding wasn't about the dress or extravagant details; it was about the genuine connection between Y/N and Adrien. It was about navigating the challenges, making compromises, and finding joy in the simple, unscripted moments that defined their journey.

And as the night came to a close, Y/N and Adrien left the venue hand in hand, ready to embark on the adventure of married life—a journey that promised both highs and lows, but one they were excited to face together. The simplicity of their celebration became a testament to the strength of their love, proving that sometimes, the most beautiful things are found in the genuine, unfiltered moments of life.
