Khadijah's heart started to ache as they pulled out of the apartment parking lot. Everything was going so great! For once, her life seemed to be on track but just like that, the happy days were over.

"Would you like to talk about it, honey?" Heather questioned.

"No," She harshly answered.

Khadijah didn't want to talk about anything with her. She hated Heather. She felt like Heather was taking her away from the only life she's ever known. As they drove through the city, memories of moments with her grandmother at all these different locations flooded Khadijah's mind. She felt empty. Like a peice of her heart was permanently taken away.

"It'll get better," Heather stated.

Khadijah squeezed her eyes shut. It was so overwhelming. Grandma's gone forever. Chris isn't with her. Moving too a new city. Khadijah felt like her head was spinning. The only thing that could make her feel better was a hug from those who were no longer with her.

"Drink some water. Or maybe you should sleep. It's a long ride," Heather suggested.

Khadijah didn't respond, she just sat there on the seat, silently. At that moment, the seeds of depression had been planted in Khadijah's mind.

As Chris stood on the sidewalk, watching the car drive away, he felt the same heart ache that Khadijah did. Everything they had been through and then this happens. It's like they could never be happy. Chris wasn't the type to cry over a girl but at that moment he really felt like it. This wasn't going to be easy. Chris said that this would work but to be honest, he was nervous. FaceTime and texting couldn't compare to seeing Khadijah in person which would be incredibly hard. With school, a new job, and hopes to rejoin the basketball team in mind, Chris felt like he would have no time for Khadijah.

They hadn't been apart for an hour and Chris already felt discouraged from continuing this relationship.

Khadijah slouched in her seat and threw her head back. She was in another meeting. The principal decided to call her Aunt once again to discuss her bad behavior. She's been here for five months and this is the fourth meeting.

"I've seen her transcript from her old school. She was a fantastic student. What's going on here?" The principal asked.

He lifted up Khadijah's most recent report card to show the drastic change.

"She's still in a state of shock and grief," Her Aunt said.

"I know this must be hard for her but we really need to get back Khadijah back on track. She's ruining her future."

"What would you suggest?"

"I think it would be best in Khadijah talks to the school therapist three times a week."
