Liam's pov

We have just finished our up all night tour. I can't sleep. I grab my phone and turn it on. I turn down the brightness all the way and see it is 3:44am. We all need to be up in about an hour and a half. I look over at Louis and sigh. I wish I could sleep like Louis. I cuddle into him and he says sleepily "Get some sleep love." I say horsely "I can't sleep." Tears instantly well up in my eyes at the pain when I talk. Louis is instantly up hearing my voice he asks "Do you have a sore throat?" I nod and Louis asks "Do you want a throat sweet?" I nod and Louis says "Let me up then and I will go and find you one." I nod and reluctantly get off of Louis.

Louis' pov

I get up and quietly go downstairs and I quickly find the strepsils. I take them upstairs and I take one out of the packet and give it to Liam. Liam puts the throat sweet into his mouth. Once he has finished his throat sweet he cuddles back into me and I kiss his forehead and frown at the heat. I ask "Are you feeling alright baby? You feel rather warm." Liam says "I'm under the duvet and cuddling you. I'm probably just warm from that." I nod and say "If you are still warm in the morning then I am taking your temperature" Liam nods and closes his eyes. I gently smooth his hair until I hear soft snoring coming from Liam. I then follow Liam to sleep.

I get woken up about an hour later by Liam leaving the bed. I also get out of bed and follow Liam into the bathroom where he is crouched down by the toilet holding his stomach. I sit behind him and rub his back. I then say "Li why didn't you wake me? How long have you been in here?" Liam shrugs and says "I don't know about a couple of minutes. I feel really sick." I instantly know he is poorly. He wouldn't admit to feeling sick unless he was really not feeling well.

I gently rub Liam's back and ask him "What's going on love? Why are you feeling poorly?" Liam responds "My throat hurts, I feel nauseous, I have a headache, my whole body aches." I gently rub his back and ask "Do you think you might be sick?" Liam shrugs and says "That's why I came in here because I not sure." I nod and say "You feel really warm. Could I check your temperature please?" Liam nods and I quickly grab the ear thermometer and I then sit back behind Liam and gently put the thermometer in Liam ear and press the button. Soon the thermometer beeps and I take the thermometer out of Liam's ear and say "38.9. That's quite the fever you have there babe." Liam just whimpers and cuddles into me more I say "Li could I have a look in your throat?" Liam nods and I say "Let's go back into our room. If you need to be sick then we can use the bin. Liam nods again and I help Liam up

I lead Liam back into our room and I sit him on the bed. I grab my phone and turn on the torch on and say "Open your mouth as wide as you can Liam" Liam nods and opens his mouth. He whimpers. I shine the torch down his throat and say "Oh baby. Your throat is really red and swollen" Liam whimpers and I say turning off my torch "You can close your mouth now." Liam nods and closes his mouth I ask "Could I feel your neck?" Liam nods and I feel Liam's neck and I say "Your throat definitely feels swollen. We will get you a doctors appointment in the morning. Try and get some more sleep baby." Liam nods and cuddles into me I lay down and I rub Liam's stomach and soon he falls asleep. I smile and soon follow Liam to sleep.

The next morning still Louis' pov

It is now 9am. I have a doctors appointment for Liam at 11:15. Liam is still sleep cuddled into me. I kiss him on the forehead. His eyes slowly open and he says "Lou" I say "Oh babe. What's up." He points to his throat and I ask "Does it still hurt?" Liam nods and says quietly "Worse than last night" I nod and say "You have a doctors appointment today at 11:15." Liam nods and cuddles into me more. I smile down at him.

At 11:15 still Louis' pov

We are currently waiting in the waiting room for Liam's doctor to call us through. Liam leans his head on my shoulder. I look down at him and smile. He just gives me a sad look. I gently put an arm around him and I rub his shoulder. About ten minutes later the doctor comes out and says "Liam Payne." I help Liam to stand up and lead him over to the doctor. The doctor leads us to the room and he asks "What seems to be the problem Liam?" Liam looks at me pleadingly then leans against me struggling to keep his eyes open and I say "Sorry his throat hurts him to talk." The doctor nods and says "I'm assuming that is the problem then." I nod and the doctor asks "What other symptoms does he have then?" I respond "He has a high temperature, a headache, he has red patches on his throat and has swollen lymph nodes and he is exhausted as you can probably tell." The doctor nods and asks "Could I check his temperature?" I nod and the doctor puts a thermometer in Liam's ear and presses the button. Once the thermometer beeps the doctor pulls it out of Liam's ear and says "39.3. That is really quite high. Liam could you sit up for a second please. I would like to have a look at your throat please." Liam whines and the doctor says "I know Liam. Just for a few minutes." Liam whines again but nods. He sits up and the doctor asks "Could you open your mouth as wide as you can please?" Liam nods and opens his mouth. The doctor shines a torch down his throat and says "It definitely looks like strep throat. I am going to get a test just to be sure." Liam nods and cuddles back into me. The doctor leaves the room.

The doctor comes back in a few minutes later and asks "I am so sorry Liam. I am going to have to ask you to sit up again" Liam whines again and the doctor says "I will be as quick as I can then you can cuddle Louis again." Liam whimpers but sits up. The doctor then asks "Could you open your mouth as wide as you can again please." Liam shakes his head and the doctor asks "Just for a couple of seconds so I can get you the medication you need." Liam opens his mouth and the doctor swabs the back of Liam's throat. Liam gags slightly. The doctor pulls the swab out of Liam's throat and asks "Are you alright?" Liam nods and cuddles back into me. The doctor says "I am just going to get this tested then you can be on your way." I nod and the doctor leaves the room just as Liam looses his fight to stay awake.

A few minutes later the doctor comes back in the room and smiles at me and says "He does have strep throat. Here is prescription. He needs to take is 3 times a day for 10 days with food." I nod and take the prescription and put it in my pocket. I then lift Liam up and the doctor says "If his temperature gets any higher take him straight to the hospital." I nod and say "Will do." And I leave the room. I carry Liam out to my car and put him in the seat. I then strap him in and go to the pharmacy to pick up Liam's prescription.

A few days later no one's pov

Liam felt much better after 7 days but he still took the antibiotics for the whole 10 days. Liam thanked Louis for looking after him whilst he was sick.
