Liam's pov

We are just finishing up our North American leg of our take me home tour. Niall and I are in a relationship and we have been since the X-factor. We have just finished our second night in LA. We are going home in a couple of days for a little bit we have one more concert then we are going home. I am currently playing on my phone in the main area of the bus and everyone else is asleep in their bunks when my phone suddenly rings.

I look at the caller ID and see it is my dad calling me. I answer quickly knowing he would only ring this late if it was an emergency. I say "Hi dad" he responds sounding like he has been crying "Li, there is no easy way to tell you this but mum was in a car accident." I ask trying not to cry "Is she alright?" I hear my dad sigh and he responds "I'm so sorry Li. The doctors did everything they could but she has due to her injuries unfortunately passed awa..." I cut my dad off saying "No she can't be dead. Dad she can't be dead. I still need her" tears start rolling down my face as my dad says "I'm so sorry Li that you had to find out this way but I wanted you to find out from me and not the news." I don't talk for a few minutes and my dad says "Li talk to me. What's going through your head?" I let out a sob and say "I need her. I wanna go home" dad says "You will be home in a couple of days buddy." I say "I wanna go home now." I let out another sob and my dad says "Oh Li." I say "Dad I need to go. I need to get up early in the morning." My dad responds "Alright Li. Call me tomorrow at some point. Remember I love you and so did mum." I nod and end the call.

I go into the bunk area with tears streaming down my face trying not to sob and grab my mum's hoodie that she gave me before the start of the tour as she knew I would miss her. I then go into the main area of the bus and lay down on my side on the sofa and hold the jumper close to me clutching onto it like it is my lifeline. I sniff the hoodie and instantly start sobbing hoping the hoodie will muffle the sound of my sobs.

Niall's pov

I wake up feeling something is not quite right I try to shake off the feeling and go back to sleep but I can't. I open my curtains and see everyone's curtains but Liam's closed and Liam not in bed. I sigh and quietly get out of bed and I slowly walk into the main area of the bus. I hear Liam before I see Liam. I hear his muffled sobs. I walk over to him and kneel down on the floor in front of the sofa and gently say "Li what's wrong love?" Liam looks up at me and my heart clenches at the site of him. His eyes are swollen and red and he has tears still streaming down his face with great sobs. I ask "Would you like a cuddle?" Liam nods and throws himself at me. I catch him as he falls off the sofa and he sobs into my chest. I carefully stand up and sit on the sofa with Liam on my lap as he sobs. I gently rub his back.

After about 20 minutes I hear Liam's sobs start to die out and I look down at him and see he is asleep. I carefully lay us down and continue to rub his back. I gently kiss the top of his head and whisper "I love you Liam." I kiss the top of his head again and fall asleep myself.

A couple of hours later I get woken up by some sobs. I look at Liam and see him sat up crying into a hoodie. I say "Li babe." He quickly hides the hoodie and I say "Li come here." Liam cuddles back into me crying. I ask "Who's hoodie is that?" Liam responds "My mums. I miss her." I say "We are going home in a couple of days you'll see her then." Liam starts sobbing and he says "No I won't. She's dead." I say "Oh Li. I'm so sorry." Liam continues "That's why I was so upset earlier my dad just told me." I gently rub his back and ask "May I ask how she passed?" Liam responds "Car crash. The doctors did everything they could but they couldn't save her" and starts sobbing hard into my chest. I gently rub his back. He eventually cries himself to sleep. I look down at him and see he is chewing on the sleeve of his mums hoodie. I gently try to pull it out of his mouth but Liam starts stirring. I leave it and he stays asleep. I continue to rub his back until I fall asleep.
