"So since the girls are having a sleepover, that means we do too?" David asks

"Of course. I wanna know what the hype is all about" Sean says in disbelief

I release a laugh as I shake my head at his words. Sean and David were both unapologetically themselves and I loved them for it.

"Okay, if we are gonna have a sleepover as you say, I need a drink first" I say before going into the kitchen and grabbing a beer

"Mind if I get one?" Gavin asks from the doorway of the kitchen

I nod before grabbing and tossing it over to him. He open it as we both sit in silence.

"You guys never told me Dylan was gonna be with us tonight" he says clearing his throat

I stop mid drink, eyebrows raised at him.

"Was it a problem we invited her?" I ask curiously

"No but it's kind of awkward" he shrugs

"Well, none of us knew about Ayla. Plus, Dylan's been our friend for a whole lot longer and we've all missed her. It's been different since you guys broke up" I tell him

"I know it has but things happen. It was just time for us to part ways" he says taking a swig of his drink

"Why did you guys break up Gavin? It makes no sense. Before we left the beach house, you guys were so in sync with each other. She loves you and I know you love her. So what happened?" I ask

I already knew the story from what Dylan told us but I had a feeling there was more to it. Something didn't seem right as soon as Gavin joined us the other night with Ayla. I saw that look on Aspen and Dylan's face. Something more had obviously happened.

"What makes you think anything happened?" He questions

"Did anything else happen?" I ask

"What do you know?" He asks taking a seat at the bar

"I know that Dylan was in the hospital. I also know that somewhere between the hospital and by the time you left from your visit, you guys didn't just lose each other" I say crossing my arms

He sits quietly as the last few words exit out of my mouth. He doesn't say anything for a while as we both stare at each other. I knew if Dylan wouldn't say what happened, Gavin would tell me.

"Before she told me about the baby, I asked her to marry me" he says catching me completely off guard

"You did what?" I ask in disbelief

"I thought we were ready. I thought she was ready to take that step with me. I thought she wanted to be with me over anything. I obviously guessed wrong on that one"
