I HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH YOU OTHER WRITERS ‼️
I was trying to relax before I went to sleep, so I decided "Oh I really want to read some Jake x Johnnie fanfics that other people wrote, yk for shits and giggles, support some fellow authors." but NO
I KID YOU NOT like a few sentences into one fic someone (I won't be calling out these authors out directly) uses the SAME sentence as me in their story.
I was like "that's ok it's not like their story Is the same as mine, whatever." I just kinda laughed it off.
BUT THEN I made the mistake of reading a DIFFERENT story by a DIFFERENT author and they include MORE THAN 4 sentences I ORIGINALLY WROTE in MY STORY. They didn't even bother to change the wording of the sentences.
And I would like to make it clear that it is COMPLETELY fine to get inspiration from another writer who's work you like, and if you implement a COUPLE ideas from their story and GIVE THEM CREDIT that is also FINE. BUT IT IS NOT OK TO STEAL parts of SOMEONE'S HARD WORK and NOT give them ANY CREDIT.!
I know this might sound stupid to most of y'all, but you truly don't understand how upset this makes me.
