They reign over their own 12 hours in the sky.

Selene gazed upon her moon with awe and sweetness- bathing under its gentle light. When she gazed upon the sun- it only pained her eyes and burned her skin.

Inti lay in warmth under her gazing sun, never having to worry about the cold when it lit the sky. Her eyes were never on the cold moon- for she slept in hiding until her sun rose.

Two goddesses who never got along.

One resides in North America, the other in South America.

Cats and Dogs have never gotten along... so why would Werecats and werewolves?

For hundreds of years- they avoided each other like the plague. The werewolves never liked South America for its warmth, lack of land to run on, and lack of elk, meese, and deer. They had too much fur for that miserably hot landscape.
Werecats never wanted to visit North America. The snow hurt like miniature bullets; they lacked large trees to climb and build on, and it was far too cold. They loved to bathe under the sun, but what do they do for the other half of the year that's frigid?

Yet, they cast their eyes upon Central America. It was the middle ground, with a combination of the weather.

Wolf packs and Cat prides are found tangled amongst each other- fighting for land constantly. Tension was high when two types of people were not only fighting for territory but for food and culture.

Every eclipse- the Goddess' would fight for their spot in the sky.

Hidden from the human's eyes- the spirits of werecats and werewolves would battle ruthlessly. Their hatred for each other fueled their Goddesses until one of them stole the sky.

The Lunar Eclipse is when Selene wins with ease. She smiles fondly at the moon but feels immense disdain for its bloodied appearance. The moon was meant to be white, pure, and gentle- but due to the sun, it was ominous.

The Solar Eclipse is when Inti wins with ease. She adores her sun, the gentle heat soothing her into a mid-day nap, but she frowns upon its darkened appearance. Due to the moon- her beautiful sun was cursed to be darkened and not light up the land with her glow.

Selene, a woman known for her kindness, disliked Inti. That was a hard thing to achieve.

Inti, a woman known for her headstrong behavior, was irked by Selene. That was a hard thing to achieve.

They were opposites.

Selene sank into the cold grass as she watched the Eldritch god disappear. Lucifer and River calmed down, uncovering their eyes and sighing with relief.

Her husband gritted his teeth- clenching his fists as he stared at the empty ritual circle in thought.

She wanted nothing more than to wake up and realize this was a dream.

How could she make amends with Inti, the Sun Goddess? Not only was she weaker than before, but Inti's jaguar, Kusikuy, absolutely hated Luna. It didn't take much for the memory of their introduction to come roaring in.

Selene had never fought anyone- but Luna battled like a screaming earthquake. She didn't hesitate to express her hatred for the jaguar.

An echoing laugh made her cover her ears- pressing her forehead into the earth.

"How funny." The voice of Lou'keei cooed in her mind, "Your kindness ends with your fellow Goddess, hm?"

Selene squeezed her eyes shut and whimpered.

"So much for a goddess known for her sweet nature..."

She couldn't take it.

She'll prove this Eldritch creature wrong.
