Alex- Three Months Later

After four days of searching, we have finally managed to find the famous restaurant with 'the best paella known to man'. It only took one hundred Euros and a promise of a yearly visit to get the recipe out of them.

The promise wasn't needed though as if tonight goes the way I hope Valencia is about to become very important to us both.

We are lucky that Abigail is pretty much fluent in Spanish since this is a rare not super touristy area of Spain, so English is just not spoken here.

It is really nice that they have managed to maintain their identity even with the invasion of the English but it has meant that I have stood beside her like a lost child while she translates for me.

"Where are we going?" Abi begs while tugging on our linked hands like a kid. She is wearing a gorgeous green fifties style dress that matches her incredible hypnotizing eyes. Her gorgeous full curls are pulled high in a ponytail.

She is beyond beautiful as always.

I smile at her before responding "told you it's a surprise" she lets out an agitated groan, but a massive grin is still planted on her face. I used Thomas's contact to get into the Botanical Gardens after hours so this moment wouldn't be ruined by screaming children.

When the gates come into view Abigail bounces wildly next to me, she has been asking to come here since we arrived. I have kept putting it off by distracting her with various other trips instead, -even dragged my panic ridden ass to to the stunning thermal springs yesterday-

I hand the guard my I.D and he lets us in with a broad smile. "How long do we have?" Abi asks absolutely ecstatic jumping up and down in front of me.

"We have an hour so only go to the places you really want to, and we will brave the masses tomorrow to see the rest." She grabs my hand dragging me off in the direction of the tropical plant's greenhouse, which is exactly where I assumed she would go.

Abigail yanks me through the door, instantly beginning talking a mile a minute about all the plants and flowers that surround us. I'm taking nothing in, it's excruciating how slowly we are moving forward when I know what awaits us at the end of this pink flower lined walkway.

The room is so humid that I can already feel sweat dripping down my neck. Nervousness builds in my stomach, and we need to move faster or I might actually throw up right here.

Finally, I can see the flickering light of the candles out of the corner of my eye Abi has her back to them talking animatedly with her hands.

My patience runs out and I grab both her hands guiding her backwards into the centre of the circle of candles. Her eyes widen as she becomes aware of what's happening, I let go of Abigail's hands and she explodes in hysterics.

The confusion on my face just makes her laugh more. "Not going to lie baby, but this is not the reaction I expected you to have."

Abi wipes her face digging through the large cream bag on her shoulder. She drops it to her feet and extends a hand to me when her fingers peel back a small black velvet box sits in her palm. Instantly I begin cackling, slipping my own black box from my pocket.

Pulling her into my arms while we continue jiggling with laughter. The quick shuttering of the camera fills me with so much relief that I listened to Thomas who insisted that I have a photographer capture the moment.

Now it's obvious that he and Anna certainly knew that we both had this planned and wanted to commemorate the moment for us.

As cute as the sentiment is our niece is still getting a plethora of noisy toys for all her gifts for at least the first eight years of her life or until Anna murders us anyway.

I pull Abi away from my chest and flip open the box in my hand, she lets out a gasp as her eyes land on the ring. "I never want to spend a single day without you so Abigail Wilson will you marry me?"

She wipes her tear-filled eyes nodding quickly "only if you marry me too" Abi got me a simple white gold band, its perfect. We slip the rings on each others fingers then I grip her face in my hands to kiss the most beautiful woman I've ever met.

My warrior, the one I will never be without, the missing puzzle piece I didn't realise I needed so desperately. The only one for me. Together we are invincible and together we will soar.

"I love you" Abigail whispers onto my lips.

"I will love you forever" I whisper back.
