Kuntibhoj was pacing back and forth with feverish anticipation, a small smile was etched on his face. Every fiber of his being was aflame with uncontainable elation, today. With each step, the echoes reverberated through the chamber, punctuating the palpable joy in the air.

Soon the doors swing open, revealing a happy Shurasen holding a little bundle of joy, squirming in his arms. The king stepped inside, with pleasant expression on his face.

As Kuntibhoj's eyes settled upon the baby, the weight of endless anticipation finally settles upon him.

"Yeh hai meri pratham santaan, meri putri Pritha." Shurasen said.

He gently handed the delicate baby, to Kuntibhoj, who held her close to his heart with utmost care. His eyes, filled with a combination of wonder and trepidation, slowly flooded with tears as he gazed upon her small face.

"Ab se yeh tumhari kanya huyi." Shurasen said keeping his hand over his cousin's shoulder.

"Dhanyawad Shura, dhanywad." Kuntibhoj said as tears fell from his eyes.

"Isme dhanyawaad kaisa ?" Shurasen chuckled, he then gazed at his daughter and gently caressed her head, "Bas ise sampurn sneh aur sammaan dena."

"Awashya." Kuntibhoj said assuringly.

The city of Mathura, was thriving in the same way, just the way it was thriving under the rule Shatrughan in Tretayug after he freed it from the terror of Lavanasur.

Like head-dresses, large mansions and tall buildings adorned the crescent shaped city, while giant walls and gates were like armlets. Cheerful men and women, prospered under the reign of Ugrasen who was under the dominion of Shurasen himself.

The wife of Ugrasen, Rani Pavanrekha was sitting near the banks of river Yamuna, accompanied by her handmaidens, other maidservants and guards.

She was waiting patiently for her husband to arrive. He had promised to come as soon as he is done with his kingly duties for the day.

Her regal countenance was defined by flawless skin that appeared as if it had been kissed by the sun itself, radiating a luminosity that whispered tales of youthfulness.

Every delicate contour of her face seemed to have been carved by divine hands. The young queen, gazes at the river Yamuna, wondering when Ugrasen will arrive.

And because her mind was consumed by the thoughts of her husband, she didn't know that her beauty had caught the eye of someone.

Drumil, a Gandharv, was flying over resplendent city of Mathura when he saw Pavanrekha. Seeing her regality and grace, he knew instantly that she could be none other than the queen herself.

Kaamdev seemed to have pierced him with arrow. Desire overtook his heart and mind, clouding his intellect. His entire body felt to be burning as he secretly gazed at the beautiful queen, at the prime of her youth.

But Drumil knew that he wasn't going to get what he wanted easily, Pavanrekha was famous for her chastity and loyalty to her husband. He knew that she would never accept another man.

Thus he decided to con her. He descended on the ground, behind a tree, making sure that no one saw him. Then he used his powers to disguise himself as Ugrasen.

And now haven taken the form of the king, he approached Pavanrekha. She glanced at him, his illusion was too strong to be detected by the eyes. Believing him to her husband, she smiled thinking that her wait was finally over.

"Ekant." Drumil said, mimicking Ugrasen. All the maids, servants and the guards bowed to him, before going away.

"Toh aapko samaye mil gaya apni patni hetu ?" She asked with a smile as he came and sat beside her.

"Tumhare jaisi stree ko koi bhul kaise sakta hai." He said putting his arm around Pavanrekha's waist pulling her close.

She blushed and tried to free herself from his grasp, but his grip just tightened. He leaned closer and then placed a kiss on her neck.

And things escalated from there, and in the guise of Ugrasen, Drumil pleasured with her to his heart's desire. And Pavanrekha didn't realise it was not her husband, until it was too late.

But when she did, she pushed the Gandharv away, and looked at him with a horrified expression.

"Kaun ho tum ?!" She asked.

At that the he dropped his disguise and came in his true Gandharv form. Seeing him, a gasp escaped the lips of Pavanrekha for her chastity had been violated through such a wicked illusion.

"Dukhi na ho, Rani." Drumil said in an unapologetic manner, "Mere putra ko tum janm dogi, jo atyant shaktishaali aur sahasi hoga."

Pavanrekha's shock and guilt was quick to turn into anger, she snapped her gaze at the Gandharv, looking at him scornfully.

"Tumne mere saath chhal kiya hai ! Iss liye tumhare putra mei kan-bhar bhi acchai nahi hogi, tanik bhi dharm nahi hoga, na hi kabhi use kabhi aashirvad praapt hoga, aur na hi sajjano ka saath !" The queen declared right away.

Seeing the anger of a chaste woman, Drumil got scared for a moment. He feared that he may get cursed too by Pavanrekha.

Taking a step back Drumil declared, "Toh woh tumhare hi Yaduvansh ka shatru hoga !" And then the Gandharv disappeared before her sight.
